Crookbond Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 The potential batting great hit the bat handle onto his thumb as he was marking guard with the bail - he almost retired hurt before facing a ball.

Texan Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Averaging 35 in Tests and 38 in ODIs.... by Pakistani batting standards these days, he is still a legend :cantstop:
hhunaeh Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Is there anybody who is not a ATG in the pakistani team? They become greats even before they make their debut.
Asim Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Had a decent tour, played some crucial inngs: 19, 50, 40*, 29*, 37 - 9, 46*
trundlerNO1 Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 I was impressed by him in this series, looks far more matured. Don't know about him being next great
The Outsider Posted July 29, 2013 Author Posted July 29, 2013 I am officially embarrassed about this thread. :((
vvvslaxman Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 A glorified slogger who is having a good "connection form".
Iconoclast Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Seems like giving him the responsibility of keeping has also made him a more responsible batsman. I think Pakistan I finally found themselves a quality keeper batsman.
Sajid_Rana Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 A glorified slogger who is having a good "connection form". This glorified slogger has better average and S/R than perfect technique specialist batsmen like Dhawan,Rohit,Raina despite never played a single ODI on home pastas. :cantstop:
Old guy Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 This glorified slogger has better average and S/R than perfect technique specialist batsmen like Dhawan' date='Rohit,Raina despite never played a single ODI on home pastas. :cantstop:[/quote'] dhawan?rohit? bad days man i remember comparisons with sachin tendulkar :hysterical:
deathmonger Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 This glorified slogger has better average and S/R than perfect technique specialist batsmen like Dhawan' date='Rohit,Raina despite never played a single ODI on home pastas. :cantstop:[/quote'] LOLwut Check out Dhawan's record. Far better avg/SR, in spite of opening and playing all his matches in bowler friendly conditions. Rohit/Raina I agree. He's in that caliber - similar to our worst batsmen. He's nowhere as good as Kohli, Dhoni, Pujara, Dhawan etc. I'd even put Raina/Rohit ahead of him. Umar Akmal's glory days have all been in the past. Now he's been found out. Raina/Rohit has the clutch gene and wins you important matches (WC 11 and CT 13 being some of them). Here's a very important knock of his - I know you remember this. :--D [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqJZGo64iZc]India vs Pakistan Semi Final Highlights World Cup 2011 - YouTube[/ame] P.S: It's pattas not pastas. Or I guess it is pastas for you lot cause terrorists shoot cricketers and turn them in shreds resembling pasta.

Crookbond Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 This glorified slogger has better average and S/R than perfect technique specialist batsmen like Dhawan' date='Rohit,Raina [b']despite never played a single ODI on home pastas. :cantstop: 43 out of 76 ODIs in Asia i.e. approx. 56% of ODIs in similar conditions. Dhawan has played a grand total of 1 out of 18 ODIs in Asia. Talk about being off point.
