Lord Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 I dont think there is a particular weakness for the short stuff. I think the weakness lies in shot selection against the short delivery when in a hurry to score runs. Put the same batsmen in a test match and they will see off the short deliveries with ease and will even start scoring off some safe shots. T20 is hit or miss cricket and we have missed more than we have not. Big deal!! Let me remind: "A team that does not know how to play short deliveries does not become no1 in tests." nobody is questioning Sachin,RD,Laxman wrt to short balls.its these boys who r playing.n i agree that the problem gets magnified in hurry to score runs.the solution to that is to bat first n bat feely, see off the pace bowlers n attack the rest
The Outsider Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Let me remind: "A team that does not know how to play short deliveries does not become no1 in tests." There is a huge fallacy in that statement. The team which is number 1 in tests has Sehwag, Tendulkar, Dravid, and Laxman in it.
falconhawk Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 WTF is wrong with Yuvraj Singh? Yuvraj Singh was one of the most dangerous T20 players. He performed **** in IPL. didn't make 1 fifty out of 12 matches. And same for T20 World Cup. Where are his fielding skills and aggressive batting? I think the guy is too much into romance.
Lord Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 why does all this partying n romance come into play wen Yuvi is outta form?i mean surely he does that wen hes in form too.nobody mentions that then?:hmmm:
Clarke Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 Must be worn out i suppose. Or simply not in full flow, happens to everyone other than a select few.
diegovegaz Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 he's not fit to play yes, he can hit a few, but he's not playing upto his potential due to his current body
The Realist Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 He's been out of form for about two years now. Mentally and physically unfit. Acts like a retired player not an athlete. Can't cut it anymore in limted over cricket and has always been a failure in tests. If he was Australian they would have dumped his sorry fat ass and moved on to younger and hungrier players.

vvvslaxman Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 He has won matches for Dhoni. So Dhoni will back him fully. But selectors should not have such considerations. You cannot carry passengers in a team.
HowardRoark Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 lol..i bet no one is hungrier than him right now...have u looked at his belly ? :finger::finger: How dare you say no one is hungrier than him?
Manny_Pacquiao Posted May 10, 2010 Posted May 10, 2010 he doesnt look interested. i think losing captaincy of kings xi pissed him off a bit and he still hasnt gotten over it. poor form didnt help much either one more thing, his knee is still fked up. he should get surgery done on it so he doesnt have to limp around everywhere like he has done for the last year and a half itsa shame because he is indias best batsman in t20. his batting in t20 world cup last year in england was spectacular

Laaloo Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 The fatass has been contemplating surgery for the past 2-3 years. I'm still surprised that he hasn't done it yet. When's he going to do it? Before the 2011 WC?
Manny_Pacquiao Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 :dontknow: tau his batting was spectacular in 2007..last to last to last year... yea but he was electric in 2009 too powered india to 180 in that match vs bhangeedesh and his knock against west indies was amazing even in the recent series vs sri lanka he scored 60 off 25 balls in mohali but these days he is nothing like this, and it shows in india's results :hitler::hitler:
Ranjha Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Yuvraj singh must bat at #3 tomm and score runs or we are going down.
maverick.rules Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 They just cant play the short stuff and I dont see that they have done anything about it. I thought they would have learnt their lessons from last T20 WC and we would perform better this time.... :(( How wrong I was? Forget fast bowlers - these idiots were getting bounced by sammy, bravo, etc not these are not 145 or 150 k bowlers. OMG - our team is good only against tundlers like we have in the domestic circuit and that too on flat tracks... The excuse given by Mr. Dhoni is sickening - Someone should kick his ass and tell him that you are playing for your country if pulling is not your natural strength then bloody well spend time in the nets and improve... Is this too hard to understand for team India? :((
Ranjha Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 You cant compare playing short balls in tests with t2o. In tests, you have the luxury of ducking as much as you want. Ofcourse there is skill required in that too but it can be handled much more easily than in T20s.
don_corleone840 Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 Do U Really Care About T20 World Cup!! I AM REALLY SURPRISED BY THE WAY PEOPLE ARE CRITICISING TEAM INDIA. its only t20 boy luck/skill ratio is much higher.. you know it AND WHO REALLY CARE ABOUT PYJAMA CRICKET.AS RIGHTLY SAID BY RICKY PONTING THAT IT IS JUST A FUN.I AM REALLY LAUGHIING ON SOME PATHETIC CRICKET EXPERTS WHO ARE JUDGING PLAYER LIKE G.GAMBHIR ON MERIT ON T20 PYJAMA CRICKET.WE SHOULD STOP TAKING T20 SERIOUSLY AND SHOULD CONCENTRATE ON TEST CRICKET , WHICH IS PINNACLE OF GAME.:winky:
