kabira Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 This could be Unadkat's chance....He has nothing to lose here. Even if he gets wickets, zaheer will replace him. Another Gujju debuting...Wow........
Roshanrocks Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 doubtful starter... hopeful main course
saneindian Posted December 15, 2010 Author Posted December 15, 2010 This could be Unadkat's chance....He has nothing to lose here. Even if he gets wickets, zaheer will replace him. Another Gujju debuting...Wow........ Going by the attention Gary Kirsten and Simmons have been giving to Umesh Yadav, I have a feeling he is the first choice reserve bowler currently. Unadkat, though brings variety to the attack, but his inexperience could go against him.
Laaloo Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 I read somewhere that Unadkat has had some success in South Africa. Sadly though, I couldn't find any stats or that series
Jimmy Cliff Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Not sure if someone's put this up elsewhere... Spearhead Zaheer shows vast improvement :nervous:
vishalvirsingh Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Munaf is not a solution' date=' though he has a bit of experience but of no if he does not want to use, instead call sudeep tyagi or RP Singh or even dhaval kulkarni is better.[/quote'] i could not agree more.. though i prefer umesh and jaydev ahead of all the other options you mentioned to play in the eleven..Munaf is history.
Sachinism Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Why is Munaf being totally written off. If SA produce green wickets, Munaf can become highly useful with his stump-to-stump line and just rely on the wicket to give movement

Sachinism Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showpost.php?p=1249942&postcount=24 That was years ago. Watching him bowl recently, he showed immense control
wanted_desi Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 I hope Zaheer is fine, and we bat first giving Zaheer one more day to recover
hari504504 Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 I hope Zaheer is fine' date=' and we bat first giving Zaheer one more day to recover[/quote'] NOOO !!.. the last thing you want is US being a bowler down...we don't even have Ganguly to fill-in... Asking Dhoni to keep for 5 days and bowl 50 overs would be a little too much I think..
putrevus Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Dhoni said the left-arm strike bowler was a doubtful starter because of a hamstring injury, We'll make a call tomorrow morning but as of now Zaheer is quite doubtful," said Dhoni So Zak is out for sure then.

putrevus Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Yadav doesn't have tools to get people out, Jaydev is better bet if ZAK is out.
cowboysfan Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Yadav doesn't have tools to get people out' date=' Jaydev is better bet if ZAK is out.[/quote'] Unadkat is not my choice ,he has hardly played domestic cricket.i really dont think he will hold up in this high pressure situation.
Lord Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 there goes our chance to take 20 wickets n win the test.it was incredibly stupid to play him in meaningless ODIs v NZ.Cheeka has done it again.gifted 1st test of the series to SA just hope our batsmen can get thru Steyn gun n Zak is better for 2nd test

Zaheer wanted to play a few ODIs to test his fitness but could not last a single ODI. So maybe he wasn't fully fit when he played those ODIs.
rkt.india Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 Yadav doesn't have tools to get people out' date=' Jaydev is better bet if ZAK is out.[/quote'] He has inswing. he has outswing. he can bowl yorker. We have not seen him in helpful conditions yet. Lets see if he plays. But i think Unadkat will play ahead of him as is an left armer.
