Zaheer is Class. Just a little out of Form. Thing is we dont have enough respect for our Fast Bowling stars which are just a few in India and we jump on seeing one or two bad performance by them. He has been bowling averagely over the last 8 months where as most other bowlers have been shyte in that period for India. Just one or two bad games here doesnot make Zaheer poor. If you need to throw someone out of the team ... there are too many passengers in this Indian team.

lol @ ppl wanting dinda in place of Zak............ That high jumper has come up with pathetic performances since coming back to the side (though i do remember him picking 3-4 wkts in a game courtesy of a few blind hits towards the end of an odi). The honest truth is that our bowling line-up has absolutely no motivation and intensity (barring Irfan as he is always on the chopping block). I'm sure that before the end of this tourney we all WILL see many other 'Great' quicks being destroyed by much lesser batsmen as that is what this format brings. Add to that the lankan tracks and I wouldn't be surprised if bowlers like Narine, Ashwin, and Botha would be the trump cards.

Even in the cup he won for us he was battered by fricking tussera and lady jaya all over the park , if not this guy's useless death bowling they would have never reached 240 in that finals. Even in semis he was the most expensive bowler.He got wickets that was good thing but he hardly bowled with control in death overs there also. If he does not/cannot get any wickets with new ball then he should not be in the team.

True. Zaheer picked some crucial wickets here and there. It is not like he was a bowler opposition was scared of. They didn't try to play him out.

He is a capable bowler but just too complacent at times. I'm one his fans, this thread was a knee-jerk reaction when he bowled 15th over yesterday and got tonked. I was really frustrated, other day against Pakistan he bowled 15th over and lost us the game and if it was not Ashwin taking wicket of Nabi in the next over, we might have even lost this game as well.

One good thing vengy and also More when they were the chief selectors was they gave young seamers a place in the squad instead of persisting with old retreads. Zak like he was in 2005 out of shape and totally useless taking his place for granted was dropped so other young guys got a chance and made him work hard to get his place back. The same thing is going on here Bhajji, sehwag, gambhir and Dhoni all these guys have been taking their places for granted and there is no pressure from selectors in spite of their repeated failures.This fricking nepotistic selector has no fricking idea how to build a team.

why would he want to give up $900K (nearly 5 crore rupees) plus his brand value would also go down by 50% at least in the market by not playing limited overs format
