Did anyone miss shastri and sunny ?

I just realized that we did not have these two mahanubhavs for the world T20. The commentary box was a much better place without them and infact people say the pre and post match shows were quite good with likes of KP and Dravid (I did not watch any of them) Such a relief to not have shastri screaming his brains out and mouthing cliches day in day out

i dunno why people have issue with Sunny and Ravi's commentary ... they are one of the best we have and they do represent India (BCCI) better than others .. The Inputs of Sunny is awesome during Pre/Post Match ...

To be honest most of them are pretty much alike, I wouldn't single out Sunny and Shastri more than anyone else.

I like both Gavaskar and Shastri's commentary. :dontknow: Much better than Manjrekar, Arun Lal, Lakshman Shiva, Rameez and Russell Arnold.

I missed Shastri. Cliche or not, the man is quite a fab commentator. Brings in the required dose of excitement.

They should have had Ravi shastri and Sunny. Hussain vs Ravi part 2 would have been nice. Manjrekar is one guy who sucks at commentary, presentation, expert analysis. everything.

Was anybody listening to arnold and bishop commentry few overs befor the end of final game?? Arnold is one of the worst.. Arnold goes... WI is going to win first ICC tournament after so long.. some players in WI were not even born when they won something.. Bishop goes -- WI won champions trophy in 2004.. i am sure these players were born before that unless they are playing 8 year old kids in WI side.. I was like what the hell.. ... ----- Having said that... westerners do have proficiency in English and obviously sound more cooler so i dont hold that against asian commentrators.. just that some of the contents that asians say is hillarious.. best commentry team is Channel 9 team..

Without Ravi, I just didn't know when the crucial part of the game was on. I assumed it was every single phase of it. Which is basically what Shastri suggests: crucial knock, crucial breakthrough, crucial phase, crucial bottle of water during drinks break etc. So yeah, didn't miss him for the 2-4 games that i watched live.

KP/Gangs/Doull and Wasim along with the main presenter were much better and presented the show in a fun way. Not to forget Dermot Reeve. Like retirement for sports-persons there should be a retirement even for commies.

I think Ganguly , Manjerekar are better and more neutral commentators. I didnt miss them at all. I just missed danny.

I certainly missed Sunny. Don't know why people have issues with him, but most of his observations are spot on and he sometimes comes up with insights on some issues which are quite refreshing. Shastri wasn't missed much, though I like it the way he gives it back to the India hating commies. Only problem with hiim - uses too many cliches.

Shastri uncle is a piece of S$%t, i was happy to not have to hear his pathetic dribbage of a voice and ear bleeding cliches and flakey toneless squealing in the commentary box, only to be replaced by worse srilankan ones unfortunately.. but hey there was KP, smile-less wonder Dravid and Dada in the after show so it was good. I was glad to not see sashtri uncle in the post match mess ups that he used to moan his way through.. Overall please keep Ravi 'garbage' sashtri away from the box as much as possible please, so that he does not mess up an other timeless event like the Yuvi's 6 6's which he totally ruined by his high pitch squeaking.. But Sunny was good, he used to give good analysis, i did miss him.
