The Outsider Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 http://www.espncricinfo.com/indian-domestic-2012/engine/current/match/574088.html Ranji trophy is not Raina's jageer to use for his comeback to the Indian side. If there was a case for enforcing the follow on, this was it because there was no chance for UP to lose the match. Moreover, he promotes himself to open the innings to pad a meaningless score in order to come back to the Indian team. Why should Dagar be denied the chance for such a meaningless century in the midst of the wonderful season he is having? Whenever the game has been in play Raina and his nephew have struggled to get into double figures throughout the season! Idiots like Raina should be just chucked away from domestic and international cricket for defiling the game.
Brainfade Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 http://www.espncricinfo.com/indian-domestic-2012/engine/current/match/574088.html . At the risk of hijacking this thread, here's the stat of that match: 32.3 2 108 1 3.32 (3nb). 108 out of 308, and took wicket #10 - that of heavyweight S. Sharma. Vrisht spinner, my left toe. Ab yeh banda India ke liye khelega? For the umpteenth time? Just because the ball comes out of that side of his right arm? How desperate are we for so-called variety?
Manny_Pacquiao Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 wow. the guy gave up a chance to win the game just so he could score a hundred and pad his stats for the selectors. now we can wait for the inevitable interview to the media..."i'm reddy for tesht cricket"
Lord Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 the worst part is,he'll likely be back to test side on the basis of this 'performance'

How desperate are we for so-called variety? no desperation, there are better spinners in india. just look at the stats. players aren't being picked on merit. dhoni is just pimping out his 'favorites' to the selectors. what was that 'agency' theory again? it fills in the blanks...

Amit Mishra is doing better than this.
Sandeep99 Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 What a hack this disgraceful idiot is! Fails in the first innings and comes to open in the second to score meaningless runs! I think this will be enough for him to get back into the side!
fineleg Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 I hope media raises a huge ruckus of this, and there needs to be a demand to have disciplinary action to drop Raina from Indian ODI team for one or two series. This kind of stern action is required. And like Outy says - drop him from Ranji as well (but also give him a kick in Indian ODI squad)

cowboysfan Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 this is indeed despicable,i have lost all respect for Raina.
jairamesh Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Good innings from Raina, hopefully they drop Sehwag and Gambhir, bypass Mukund and Rahane, and let Raina open against Australia, he deserves it.
vvvslaxman Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 I remember Asnodkar getting sacked for something similar. Too bad nobody has brought this up in the news.
Lord Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 has someone pointed it on his twitter, lets see whose nephew he blames it on?
Bumper Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 You think this has been happening recently for this to be a problem ? This sort of thing happens routinely. Instead of denying these guys a chance to play in Ranji, they should not be made captain. Only players who consistently play domestic cricket should lead Ranji teams.
