vishalvirsingh Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 It seems dhoni will come with sardar Ojha and Ashwin.....Ishant may be the paceman. Ashwin bhajji and ojha will share the spoils with ojha being the highest wicket taker....ashwin second and bhaji wl also get 1 or 2...... Ishu will not get more than 1 wicket out of 20 wickets and india will WIN......watson may hit a century.
CG Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Practice Games are no judje. We have to remember most england batsman struggled against spin .It was cook and K.p who turned the tide when it mattered .If clarke and Watson play a similar role we will be in trouble as our batting will also struggle.

When Yuvi picked up 5 wickets in practice game, people thought Ojha and Ashwin will wreck havoc in this team. Instead of that Ahswin ended with average of 50 on rank turners. Innings played by Cook and KP was turning point of the series. Our batsmen can be outbatted just by 2-3 good innings from opposition.
JaFanatic Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 who is a better allrounder among rasool ang jalaj saxena?? i havenot seen much of them. rasool :agree:

Old guy Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 in practice games cook scored 100 no ? its funny how different thinking of cook and clarke is clarke missed practice matches and cook used them to stay in touch im sure clarke will still do a cook and we will lose :(( but anyway im not really interested in this series..same tried and tested players other then bhuvan...jadeja will play too and vijay will open

StatsRock Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 ICF is cool. I logged in to vent that we gave away 34 overs of spin in Inn-2, but noticed that about 5 of you mentioned the same thing. You guys rock.
Vanarp22 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Stats: Vijay, Dhawan, Jaffer Vijay Ranji Trophy: 138 runs from 8 innings at 17.25 with a highest score of 42 (completely unconvincing) Irani Cup: 417 runs from 3 innings at 139 with 2 hundreds and a highest score of 266 (probably why he was picked) Dhawan Ranji Trophy: 461 runs from 11 innings at 51.22 with 2 hundreds and a highest score of 116* (decent) Irani Cup: 63 runs from 2 innings at 31.5 with a highest score of 63 (decent except for the duck, which makes Dhawan's average look bad) Jaffer Ranji Trophy: 835 runs from 11 innings at 75.9 with 3 hundreds and a highest score of 171 (Amazing) Irani Cup: 181 runs from 2 innings at 181 with a highest score of 101* The selectors fail again :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:
Vanarp22 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Well, the match ended up drawn despite Australia having to follow on...
game_changerr Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 i think jaafer doesnt enjoy confidence of selectors,,,,..dont know wat could be the reson.....he had one bad series (as far i remem)and was dropped from indian team....emrgence of veeru-gauti jodi then further ended his chance
Vivek.S.123 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Tiwary should be our #6 in Tests and not Sir Jaddu
rkt.india Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 It is not like Jaffer was never picked. He is a domestic legend, international failure. He has always thrived on domestic trundling.
Number Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 for opening slot. Rahane vs Vijay vs Dhawan. I think Vijay will play. He can accelerate and attack spinners and is the best player of fast bowling. Rahane struggles a lot against fast bowlers and should be on the bench for a few more series. Dhawan is too young.
Needforspeed Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Rahane should play, but knowing Dhoni's attitude I think it will be Vijay who eventually will get the nod.
NareshK Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Vijay should open. Rahane should bat at No.6. That way he can also face the second new ball.
