Anyone who watches a decent amount of TN will know that.He never lost anything due to Ipl as some kept on insisting. His real problem is scoring tough away conditions . So his real test will be in SA and NZL Good to see Vijay succeeding overseas too. His powers of concentration are amazing . 36 dot balls in a row to end the day :hatsoff:

I think Gauti too batted for one and half day in NZL few years back, when he played the epic innings which saved us a test.

If he does this 3-4 times more I want the fellow to be thrown out never to be let anywhere near international cricket - let him wallow in the domestic league. :facepalm:

What choked? This chase was always going to be difficult. 4 an over on 5th day, how many times such scores are chased before. He had to get out at some point. Its not like he got out when you needed 15 runs. Still 130 runs were needed that too in just 29 overs. It was never going to be easy. They were bound to lose wickets in an attempt to score runs. He did in that process too. It wasn't an ODI with field restrictions and PP.

It is a fact - we didn't win - his 99 was no big effort if a contribution at all to our loss. 99 is still 99 win or loss that credit cant be taken away. It was not easy there against Lyon who was getting lot of purchase out of rough. If it was so easy, others could have done to. Match in the end couldnt go close enough to be called choke. Choke was what SA did at Wanderers against us. They didnt go for win when they needed just 15 to win. Here they lost wicket in pursuit of scoring runs.
