I think you are referring to the 1999 series down under but SRT was the captain then, and Ganguly became the captain next year.

Yup, that 2-0 loss on greentops where matches hardly went to Day 3 and both teams struggled to put up 3 figure totals. Can't blame Ganguly for that though.

Just realized he was also the captain during 2004 series loss against Australia at home. Dravid stood in as captain at Nagpur as he refused to play the game. So all captains had their share of failures.

I think its harsh calling Dhoni the worst captain of the lot. I dont think he is the best captain but he is not the worst either. You just cannot ignore 2 World cup wins and being number 1. While the 8-0 lingers, he is not the first indian captain to be blanked.
