Jadeja is slowly providing true value to team

Sure' date=' on home pitches. [b']Don't know how effective such bowlers will be on their own in foreign conditions and frankly, i don't think there is room enough for both Jadeja and Ashwin on the team in South Africa. As such, i think Jadeja's bowling is of value with another spinner at the other end. This is unlikely in South Africa IMO, as India should go with a bonafide #6 and Dhoni back at #7. If Jadeja can prove to be a competent #6, it might work but he's a huge gamble in South African conditions IMO- both as batsman and bowler.
If you don't know how effective he can be in South Africa, why not wait till we find out. Why say Ashwin is better when he was useless against Australia in Australia and against England in India?? I am not saying Ashwin is bad but having Jadeja in the squad means we can change him in case Ashwin fails.

Jadeja needs to learn to bat well. Right now his batting contribution barring those 2 4s in the 3rd test are non-existent. As a pure bowler, I am not convinced he makes the side ahead of a regular spinner like Ashwin or Ojha.

Jadeja deserves to be in the squad due his strong domestic record. And Jadeja deserves to be in the test due to his good start and continuous improvement. I am not sure why that is hard to understand. Haters will continue to talk about his eventually failure and how he should not play because he will fail sometime in future. Not much substance....
Agreed.

I realize the fickle nature of fans, says Jadeja Reference: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/cricket/ipl/news/I-realize-the-fickle-nature-of-fans-says-Jadeja/articleshow/19501804.cms What do you have to say about the fickle nature of fans? I realize the fickle nature of success and that of the fans. Failure is bound to make me the butt of ridicule, as I have seen in the past. Many unsavory things were written about me when I was struggling to make a mark and was in and out of the Indian team. It was so disheartening after I was dropped, and people poked fun at me on the Internet. Of course, I have no control over that. But I have worked hard, performed consistently in domestic cricket to get back my place. Though I did pretty well in the series against Australia, I don't think I have cemented my place in the team. India are playing most Tests away from the subcontinent now and I'm not sure whether I will be part of the playing XI.

I concur. I meant that i am not sold on the idea of Jadeja AND Ashwin in the playing XI in Saffieland. I would prefer to go with Ashwin than Jadeja for the first test.

Jadeja is a great story about how a person coming from very modest beginnings can make such an impact in the field of sport! I hope he keeps getting better.
