Delayed feed works great to curb betting actually. Pro Boxing did this in the 70s & 80s to curb underground betting. With Delayed feed, it doesnt mean you are getting an AM match at PM or something, it usually means you will have your feed 3-5 minutes delayed. And yes, it does make a huge difference. Sure, bookies will be able to get the info anyways but the issue is of trust of the betters- people are less inclined to bet money when they cannot see the feed for themselves. This used to be case with sports betting in Las Vegas, till in the mid 90s the Nevada gaming comission removed the delayed telecast laws in the state to boost the state's greatest money earner- gambling. Dunno whats up with banning the cheerleaders, maybe because he is in his 70s and doesnt approve of sexy girls using sex appeal to draw attention to the game. The stategic timeout is a good thing however, but given heavy bookie involvement, it can be shelved for a season or two.

yea but thats by 3-5 seconds
7 seconds to be precise.....I guess with IPL to avoid betting,etc.....5-10 minutes would be OK I guess :dontknow: but more than that would be a big No No,but not a bad idea

The only problem with the strategic timeout is that it's forced to be taken when the team doesn't want to.

If you mean the audience' date=' there is no restriction for taking mobile phones[/quote'] Maybe cell phone calls will get clogged with all those people there?

It should be tweaked IMO. Allow each team to call one five minute timeout whenever they like. Levels the playing field and adds just 10 minutes to the game.

Most stadiums in India. I have not been to any live match recently but i have heard on twitter, cricinfo and also from friends. In Chennai they even trouble you for digital cameras..
Ok, many people here have gone to stadiums recently. Can they confirm about individual stadiums? Sabby, etc? I can confirm its not banned in Bangalore
