It’s understood Warner contacted friends ahead of the news breaking, to tell them of the incident and said Root had put a wig on his chin in a taunt Warner took to be aimed at South African batsman Amla. A bit extreme, he needs to take a look at himself Warner does because he clearly has some anger management issues.

On the issue of Root trying to imitate Amla. hmm i wont say racist cause i dont know exactly what happened. But not very mature now is it?
Most probably he was just teasing Aussies saying Amla is their nemesis?

i doubt Amla is Australia's nemesis. He was England's nemesis last summer.

G_B_, 1:30am is pretty normal to be at a bar? Nightlife in the UK usually kicks off around 12-1 anyway. half 1 is about prime time for clubs and bars. I don't understand how wearing a wig upside down to imitate a beard has anything to do with amla?

why pic on Joe-Root1.jpg choose from below... 67_trem_1145126a.jpgtim-bresnan-matt-prior.jpg
Prior would run away like a little girl. Anyway Warner is cool. None of that fake sledging, rock up and punch the oppo. If he had decked barbie that would have been even better. He is young these things happen. Ponting was involved in similar incident when going out when yound, woke up with black eye and did not know how. Now everyone says what a legend he is and top bloke:haha: Look warner is young and will learn and mature. Lets not be to judgemental and pious with our lectures. Is a bit of an sob but so what, am sure he will mature from this

David Warner has been suspended until the first Ashes Test for his altercation with Joe Root at a Birmingham pub in the early hours of Sunday morning. Warner was banned for the rest of the Champions Trophy and Australia's two Ashes warm-up matches as the result of a Cricket Australia Code of Behaviour hearing on Thursday night Australian time. http://www.espncricinfo.com/icc-champions-trophy-2013/content/current/story/641499.html

would have been better had he played the warmup matches... ps: for a moment I read the thread title as "warner in physical relationship with joe root" :--D

This means Warner will be an after thought for the Ashes and the aussies may go with someone like Cowan at least for the first two tests, not a bad result for the aussies tbh.
