maniac Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Sir was a joke against short balls :haha: having said that, that was a gritty knock in the finals. Raina is still suspect.kohli too is not convincing against short pitch at a decent pace, against medium he is real good but genuine pace dont think so.
rkt.india Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Dhoni cant play short ball Overseas on livley tracks he gets exposed, especially in tests What? He struggles against swing, not short balls. Let them bowl short to him overseas and he will thrash them all over.
Number Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Dhoni is a good player of short balls. But being totally bottom handed he struggles against swing.
maniac Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Dhoni is a good player of short balls. But being totally bottom handed he struggles against swing. Agree....for someone who is good player of the pull shot.....I haven't seen him execute the cut shot effectively very often
maniac Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 ^ by cut shot I mean the orthodox cut shot like sehwag, gilchrist etc not the flaying throw your bat shot
velu Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Agree....for someone who is good player of the pull shot.....I haven't seen him execute the cut shot effectively very often heavy bottom handed players cant play cut shot well..
vvvslaxman Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Almost all our batsmen play pull shots well except Raina and Jaddu.
vvvslaxman Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Dravid is the best puller.. the arm extension is very good for him [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pyc9nqFY-hA]Sadagopan Ramesh's 82 & Rahul Dravid's 81 Vs Pakistan at Sharjah 1999 - YouTube[/ame] watch at 2:19
King Tendulkar Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 They tried peppering him. Best in particular Kohli was magnificent against short ball today. Some proper quick, well directed bouncers. He gave master class
express bowling Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Dhawan pulls, cuts, leaves or defends the short ball very well. Only when he tries to hook, he has a faulty method --- he does not roll his wrists over the ball and plays the ball up in the air. He needs to correct this. The biggest plus is that he is not afraid of the fast, short ball at all.
SLICKR392 Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 We gave them the taste of their own medicine today. :ohyeah:
express bowling Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Kohli, Dhoni, Rohit and Karthik are very good against the short ball. Pujara and Dhawan are quite good and have just one problem of not rolling their wrists while hooking high deliveries. They will surely improve as both are fast learners. Jadeja is quite decent. Raina, Vijay and Rahane are poor against the short ball.
express bowling Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 We gave them the taste of their own medicine today. :ohyeah: We surely did. It proves that very few players can play fast, bouncing , good deliveries and only Indians get the blame.
rkt.india Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 We surely did. It proves that very few players can play fast' date=' bouncing , good deliveries and only Indians get the blame.[/quote'] Because we dont have bowlers to serve those.
