Praveen and Bhuvneshwar together

I think it's time to realize bowling at international is more line and length than just pace. And our strength has been line and length. And our most consitent bowlers have been Praveen Kumar and Bhuneshwar kumar off late. It's hard to decipher why Prveen is sitting out today. In a nation which hasn't produced great Express fast bowlers, we are trying to keep Praveen out of the team only because he doesn't have much pace? I thnk Praveen with Bhuvneshar can be really a big threat to oppositions. He did really well in England in test matches too where we got killed 4-0. He has done well in Australia in the past in his first tournament. With so much cricket happening now days, it's good to have good line and length bowlers like Praveen and Bhuvneshwar, over some other bowlers who aren't consistent enough.
PK was awful for more than an year before getting dropped. And it wasn't just lack of pace, his lines and lengths were horrible, bowling a lot of short and wide. He was averaging 40+ per wicket and 6+ RPO if I'm right. If you are looking for a swing bowler, Sandeep Sharma is worth a try. Bhuvi/Sandeep combo in slightly bowler friendly conditions, that'd be worth watching.

Sandeep Sharma and Bhuvi together. Sandeep Sharma is extremely under-rated and is always at the batsman' date=' hardly gives them any gimmes and always picks up wkts with the new ball. With him supporting Bhuvi we will get early wkts more often than not.[/quote'] I am his fan too. He has a rythmic run up and release like Bhuvan. With a bit of variation he can be handful in swinging conditions.

Sandeep is a little raw at the moment. At least one more domestic season and a few India A trips and he will be ready. Bhuvi had played 5 domestic seasons , around 45 FC matches, before making his international debut. No need to rush with Sandeep either.

PK has lost his swing and zip he used to get off the surface post his elbow injury.. Unless he rediscovers it' date=' tough for him to comeback.[/quote'] did okay in IPL

Sandeep Sharma' date=' now there is a guy i would like to see.[/quote'] Hes too young and too slow atm.if you are looking for a youngster,Kaul should be in

PK is miles better than ishant'I want to bowl 100mph' sharma..don't understand why we are still persisting with a mediocre bowler like him
Ishants ODI record is impressive...picks wickets . Lets not confuse formats

Its a shame PK has lost it, he was the only bright spot along with Dravid from the 2011 Eng tour. Everything went downhill rapidly since. Hope has a great season next year and bowls himself back into contention

There's a world of difference between today's Praveen Kumar and guys like Bhuvi. Bhuvneshwar actually bowls with a decent front foot block and pivots correctly through his hips and snaps into his bowling action generating better pace and bounce. Praveen has no such explosion in his action and just rotates his upper body without any power from his legs/hips so by the time the ball gets to the batsman it's much slower than Bhuvi's. As long as Bhuvi continues to work on his strength and fitness he can get a little faster where as that was never a possibility with PK because of his action.

I don't think that is true. He can and has bowled up to even 150 kmph at times and can easily go above 140 but chooses to bowl in 130s

:fishing: Seriously pk was one of indias worst odi bowlers. We are still struggling to find good death bowlers ,we cannot have 2 guys who cannot bowl at death .

I am not proud of it man. I agree with you, no matter what his pace is as long as he is bowling short and wide rubbish.

I think Ishants bounce yadavs pace and B kumars movement is good variety and the reason why oppositions batsman seem to be having a hard time getting settled in. In the the 16 matches Ishant has played with B kumar he has taken 28 wickets at an average of 23. Yadav in 8 matches with B kumar has taken 11 wickets at an average of 27. In the 8 matches involving all 3 bowlers B kumars averages 15, ishant averages 19. As the old saying goes if it isn't broke don't fix it.

Bhuvi' date= Mohit Sharma, and Varun Aaron is our perfect ODI bowling combination, coz all three have better control compared to the trio of Ishant, Yadav, Bhuvi !
