gakgupta Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Well,,,,some ppl may disagree but I truely thing england is the real no1Test team in the world. Some think it may be SA but looking zt the variety in bowling and bench strength, england have the edge. And even the results prove the same. YWell the rise didnt happen by luck. So many fact oraors are responsible for that. Primary thing is bringing in pkace .... a right infra structure and domestic circuit. Again it proves that if u do simple things right, results are there to be seen. If india can make domestic cricket more competitve then can dominate wrold cricket. Can be done by reducing no of reams.....pitches more bowler friendly,,,,,,and deceeasing beaurocracy and making them accountable
G_B_ Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 no way man SA came to england and won that series comfortably 2-0. SA are the worlds number 1 team in tests and rightly so IMO. What England are, is the worlds most balanced team when it comes to test cricket. I disagree about depth. Anderson and Swann cannot be replaced. Monty is a good deputy but he works well bowling in tandem with another spinner. Agree 100% about cricketing infra. Sky the TV broadcasters pay the ECB a lot of money and they pump it in wisely. There are cricketing courses in Louborough university a specialist sports university. While SA are currently number 1. England will always be a good team in the coming decades. I think they will throw away the concept of picking Saffers or Irishmen and bring through real talent. Aleady they have identified the asian community within the UK for developing their next generation of spin. We have to keep in mind the sky money started pumping in after the 2005 ashes. Its already starting to bear fruit with Root etc. In another 10 years we will see the full benefit of that infra coming through
cowboysfan Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 you dont need variety when you the best fast bowlers in the world.
Vilander Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 you dont need variety when you the best fast bowlers in the world. they would they that is Jimmy 'dainty legs' Anderson..

When was the last time SA got whitewashed? How many times SA have failed to win a test at home series and lost 2 matches.

G_B_ Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 I guess we need to wait and see how SA get along in UAE. while SA dont have the spinner, i feel their batsman can play or handle spin better than England
Pagalpanti Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 SA and England are definitely ahead of the other bunch. Aus-Ind-Pak are mediocre teams WI-NZ-SL are just below par
saneindian Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 There is a reason why SA have a 16 point lead over Eng in ICC rankings
Old guy Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 south africa is easily number 1 they are not even dominating teams like australia used too.. easily the best bowling attack and best batting line up

ravishingravi Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 So SA came to England. Beat them in last two tours and yet England is the real no.1 team.
