This is my list in order of merit of the great batsman who averaged less than 50 runs 1.Victor Trumper-genius of geniuses who mastered the worst of wet pitches .Dominated the wettest of seasons like a doctor curin g an incuarble patient. 2.Rohan Kanhai-posessed more prowess than any batsman who could win a match or save a storm.Averaged over 53 in matches won and 61 at one down.Overshadowed Sobers at his best.On meit arguably averaged around 55 runs.Devastating when conquering the Australain attack spearheaded by Denis Lilee at Perth in 1972 when represnting the Rest of the World Team. 3.Neil Harvey In term sof talent an equal of Sobers and Pollock as he proved when scoring 151 not out out of 336 to win a test in the 4th innings in South Africa on a treachorous pitch.Scored the most runs by any Australian in a tset series in West Indies(650)and in South Africa.(834) 4.Adam Gilchrist-Averaged over 60 for the 1st half of his career and won more games than any cricketer of his era.No batsman was as destructive in his era. 5.Graham Gooch Played the great West Indian quartet better than any batsmen ever .Averaged 57 in the Caribaen in 1981 scoring 153 at Jamaica and 116 at Barbados.In 1991 scored 154 out of 251 at Leeds versus the West Indies,considered to be the best tset match innings ever since the war.Also masterd slow bolwing like when he scored 752 runs in a3tset series at home verssu India and was the laeding run scorter on the 1981-82 tour of India 6.Ian Chappell-In a crisis overshadowed the likes of Viv Richards or Greg Chappell and averaged over 50,at one down.Great batsman against pace and spin. 7.Frank Worrell Batting's ultimate artist who outscored Weekes and Walcott on Englsih nad Australian pitches in test matches. 8.Ted Dexter A master in a crisis and the ultimate batsman to combat a great bowling attack.A better match-winner than Colin Cowdrey or Ted Dexter who could step the gas at any stage of a match. 9.Peter May A batsman in the Len Hutton mould who posessed a great range of stokes. 10.Arthur Morris One of the best left handed opening batsman ever and a great match-winner 11.Clive Lloyd An epitome of consistency who played better as a skipper Outstanding in a crisis and played both pace and spin with equal ease.At his best in 1974-75 in India and 1975-76 in Australia championing the cause against great spin and great pace bowling.Towrads the end of his career more consistent than Sir Viv Richards averaging over 50 against India,England and Australia. 12.Inzamam Ul Haq The best match-winning batsman of his time in the middle order who mastered pace bowling.Averaged over 80 in games a won and over 75% of his centuries were scored in games won. 13.Geoff Boycott Not exciting and often selfish but the ultimate batsman to bat for your life .Saved many a game for England and it is remarkable that England has never lost atset in which Boycott has registered a hundred.One of the msot consitent batsman of all time. 14.Hanif Mohammad An Asian Geoff Boycott with technical perfection of the Len Hutton mould who had more prowess for making mamoth scores than any contemporary great batsman. 15.Aravinda desilva A master technician and craftsman who mastered difficult tracks and situations.

Only difference is that Sehwag didn't chicken out like Anwar after playing for few years.

I think Anwar is a better opener than Sehwag. But, Sehwag should have played at #7 I think. If not for India, in any other non Asian side would have been an asset in lower middle order. Would have been a great player there who could play spin well, aggressive as well as being unstoppable when on the go.

FTB anwar played just 55 tests and played max 3 tests in those countries u mentioned.sehwag toured those countries more than twice and played twice as many tests as anwar and his career avg with S/R was more than astounding..this like saying chepu>>>>>inzi,miandad,zaheer abbas as of now
