He looks nervous even when he played FC for Mumbai. But yeah, seems scared while playing for India but so does Rohit. Those recent runs for Rohit did him a world of good.

Rahane got one chance, he fluffed it. He will get his chances in future but Pujara has already proved what a player he is even though at home but that is what matters right now as we are a team in transition.

The issue of nervousness is there but actually he can't be blamed given the time he spends on the bench. He knows he has to perform or else his place is gone. Probably he needs one or two really good innings, say a century, in any of the formats to get his confidence going.

I would rate him higher than Kohli considering his tight technique and patience to convert 100 to 200's. Scoring big hundreds is an art and not all can do it. It requires more than just batting skills. He is a decent back foot player. And I would be really surprised, if he doesn't score run outside sub-continent. I could remember the 2010 SA series and he did fairly well against streyn and morkel on a very good pacy pitch. He lasted only few bowls but his technique was on display

Agree...He will be perfect in the role like Gilchrist,taking the game away from the opposition....If not put him in the top 3 and have Sehwag as No6

Somehow he struggles against tall fast bowlers. Remember him getting bowled to Steve Finn many times. His strike rate is also a big issue in odi matches. He doesn't have the power to clear boundaries and relies more on touch and timing. If you are trying to chase a big score, he isn't the ideal person for that job.
