Looked at his FC record.. Outside test cricket, he averages 22-23 in Ranji, Duleep and India A matches lol. Most likely will go back to domestic cricket, pick truck loads of wickets and comeback to the side soon IF he is indeed dropped.

He did well when he was good. I think he will struggle if he bowls like this.

^^ I wish it was so easy. Remember not so long ago the bowling attack had Zaheer, Nehra, Sreesanth, Munaf and Pathan as the key pacers. In about 18-20 months, we have a completely new bowling attack which has been doing well for last 10-12 months. No one would have known that the same bowling attack which was doing so well in CT in Eng would be struggling this much a couple of months later. The argument that can given as to why they are still sticking with Ishant is that he can still hit the 86-87 mph mark when in good rhythm, plus the experience factor. Just that he's been absolutely horrible when bowling bad and hasnt picked wickets. A few dropped catches havent helped his confidence either. Same with Vinay, hasnt got much movement with the new ball, bowled without control and has been terrible with the old ball. Obviously for 4 matches in row, the current bunch have failed now so a change is needed. For the sake of the new bowlers who'll come in, I hope the pitches in the remaining matches are a bit more bowler friendly.

Problem is wrong basics for Ishant. He is not hitting 86-87 mph. His average pace is as quick as BK or VK around 82 mph in this series. His pace varies too much because of those wrong basics, poor seam, poor wrist position, falling to left side to get outswing. He has stopped concentrating on this main weapon which was inswing and instead trying to get outswing and losing his action. He is running in gingerly because he is low in confidence and losing pace. I was watching his 2008 CB series videos yesterday and could see the difference. He is nothing if he cannot bowl 140K plus because he does not have swing of BK.

He's only 24. Hopefully experience will mean his batting will improve as his bowling has improved. IPL cricket will hopefully improve his ability to score quickly but commentators did mention that seven is a tough position. You need to either be able to rebuild a broken innings or accelerate immediately. Neither role is easy.

That's good he's 24. I'm also 24. Look, he hasn't shown any big improvement in batting. He's a better bowler now but that's because he darts. He's going to get hit facing better batsman. I would actually like a lot of A team tours to take place, both home and away. It is happening now and should not stop. They mimic conditions faced in international cricket much better. We should pick players with actual international potential in the A teams and pick the performers over some time among them in our international side. Currently we are not picking the A teams too astutely.

I am claiming that Ishant is bowling sl slower and is now medium-fast compared to his fast-medium pace earlier this year. Practically we see approximately EXPRESS - 140 to 160 FAST. - 135 to 149 FAST-MEDIUM - 130 to 142 MEDIUM FAST - 125 to 137 MEDIUM - 120 to 129 MILITARY MEDIUM - 105 to 123 These are the pace ranges which when changed has some visually discernable difference and impact on the reaction of batsmen. Also, bounce should have a bearing on the classification of A pacer as bounce hurries batsmen too.
