Better to learn a lesson in a pointless one day series than in a big tournament. If india lost like this in a World Cup knockout game or something, ishank sharma would have needed a small army to protect his house. They have no option but to try other bowlers now, so this loss isn't a bad thing. It was much needed for Indian cricket. If india had fluked a win, nobody would have remembered any of this.

Exactly what I said an hour back. Im just thankful this didn't happen during the Champions trophy final. He was hailed like a hero for those 2 FLUKE wickets of Morgan and Bopara. Now, he has nowhere to hide. Cricinfo called him out 2 days ago on his piss poor bowling and he gets the hiding of his life today. If something like this had happened in a WC final or that CT Trophy final, it would have been cruciatingly painful..

the very same attack won CT a few months back in England wonder how that happened. Aussies couldnt defend 360 a few days back; almost every bowling attack is as crappy as ours
Better conditions for bowlers...and India's batting makes other bowling attacks look worse, so that's not a fair comment. Ishank sharma was average in the champions trophy anyway. Did nothing against South Africa, got smashed around by Sammy in an otherwise perfect game in some decent bowling conditions at the oval. He had a good game in the semi, but that was in really good bowling conditions against an average Sri Lanka batting lineup. I don't have to mention what he did in the final. The Important thing to remember is that his final spell was bleeding runs in every game except the Sri Lanka one. Dhoni just hasn't learned his lesson and keeps using him at the death. There is nothing wrong with BK,jadeja, ashwin. What costs india are these huge overs bowled by consistently pathetic bowlers that make up the rest of the attack.

Agree.......very similar to the Asia Cup loss to B'desh.......that loss pretty much sealed Dinda's and PK's fate as Intl. cricketers.......today's loss should be taken as another harsh lesson and learnt from.......

No loss hurt me this much in recent time' date=' previous being Chennai game vs Pak.[/quote'] Me neither. In my case, ive never been won over by the whole India-Pakistan hype, so I hate it whenever we lose to Australia. Also my GF being half Australian spices this series up for me...I really cant stand to see us lose this series.

I remember praveen kumar was an effective death bowler , relatively speaking ,as he had many variations and ability to bowl yorkers . His pace wax low in 125-130 but I never saw him being taken for many in the slog overs.

India didn't exactly deserve the win considering couple of lucky decisions. Bar Dhoni and Kohli nobody is stand out. Jaddu did his bit Bhuvan did his bit. Rest of the guys were poor.
what about Australia getting lucky with Finch when he was out and was not given.

Win the series and all this will be forgotten. Does anyone remember how Robin peterson thrashed Nehra in the WC match and how we were totally written off after that loss? Was quite similar to this loss.

Ishant has cannot execute anything.

some times losses are more important than wins as they shake the system. We need to wait and see what changes this loss brings.

what for. This is a batsmans driven game because of the pitches here. any team can beat any team in these Indian pitches because bowlers are out of the equation. the pitches are so horrible for bowlers that even good tail enders can smack 20 runs an over...so expect many more upsets unless you prepare bowler friendly pitches

Hurts because both were games we were anyway going to lose given the first inning collapse but we fought back in the match so well here only to lose it all in one over.

What a shameful loss MS Dhoni gave his all like always, just a shame the bowling side of it especially Ishant Sharma's performance was not up to the mark...never mind...better luck next time team india
