youngindia Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 things like cricketing intelligence and top notch mental makeup cannot be quantified. ppl with better aptitude and intellect for the game can master more complex things. there are guys like kohli who learn frighteningly fast, guys like rohit who are slower. the bowlers have been pretty much of mediocre quality.Even guys like even srinath and venky did not convince me.even kumble lost a few crucial battles. the bowlers never convinced me with their mental makeup except kapil.but kapil himself could not stop Imran and Pakistan often. he has to have the mental makeup to be in the top 3% and the aptitude to go along with it. only he can answer whether he has it in him. its easy to forget dhawan was as annoying as well for years. he finally put it together after years of floundering.his u 19 teammates rayudu, uthappa and karthik still have a question mark on their heads. but I know our batting prospects cannot be questioned on world class talent .its just a case of fulfilling potential.
adi B Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Pishant is hopeless..he does not even have a single quality or armour in his bowling..he.can't set up a batsman, can't even produce edges, has a terrible wrist.position, does not have a decent.bouncer,never.even heard of yorker it seems.. The guy is brainless, incorrigible Ottot his chewtiya face after getting regularly clobbered for boundaries make him a dislikable bloke

Dhoni should be rested coz of injury fear and India start thinking long term, also Rasool, Nadeem need to be looked at as spinners
vijay50 Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Ishant needs to go If this 30 run over doesn't cost his place,he can never be removed.I dont care what he did previously, but his time is up.
Ibes Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 I have hopes for Suyal, Pandey and Mohit and on these tracks they could get hammered and selectors could lose interest but really what does it freakin' take for us to take a look at the backups.
India-KXIP fan Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 There definitely is, he does have potential and will return a much improved bowler and consistent after a season or two out of internationals.
Vilander Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Look first needs to be axed and told to f off Saying that, there has been point were he has been 140 plus bowler. He needs to first find a stock ball which moves, then concentrate on bowling it rapid i.e 85 to 88 at least. He can do it. But maybe attitude stinks, I dont know. He has bowled pretty quick before, so why drop in speeds. If can bowl quick can make up for other inadequaices like not being able to move the ball at will that is it, he sucks in attitude, moron can bowl 145+ but wont want to bend his back. Pissant needs to be sent home.
asterix Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Not seen a more brainless bowler than Pissant...
vvvslaxman Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 "I didn't feel I could get Ashwin over to the long boundary, with his carom balls. So I thought if I could just get seven or eight off him and target the other end … that was our only chance of winning, to tell you the truth," Faulkner said after his team chased down 304, needing 44 off Basically they targeted Ishant.. so a lower order batsman decided to target him lol
Tendulkar_Bhai Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 His short stuff was all over the place today and i dont think he is a ODI bowler full stop (and up until a year or so back this was reflected in selections). However he is quick and the only bowler in India who can bowl bouncers like he does and impressed in spells down under where he is suited for. On these pitches he needs to be accurate and bowl good lines as well which he cant. His future is in Test matches outside the SC

Age is at his side, that's the only positive he's got and by the look of things he isn't smart enough to utilize it. Bottom Line is that the guy is done !
MCcricket Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Based on Dhonis statement after loss nothing is gonna change.
vayuu1 Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 Age is at his side, brain isn't ,end of discussion,he is a liability along with kumar, even ashwin is going through lean patch, but I will reserve my statement till I see more performances, but ishant seriously need to be shown the door, right now and there is no scope for vinay,I just can't see any scope of improvement with him, ishant needs to really think about his game seriously.
diga Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 he will be there in the 2015 world cup squad.. his Aus record is not bad
Sean Bradley Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 It will tough for Ishant to bounce back from this position, he has got a hell of allot of work to do on.his bowling, he has the ingredients but just lack a good recipe for success.
gaurav92 Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 He should be back on his way home and never return to play cricket. He has already been given chances for his next seen lives in the last 5 years, so he should quit cricket now and think about doing something else.
rkt.india Posted October 20, 2013 Posted October 20, 2013 It will be the best thing to happen to him if gets dropped from both odi and test sides. He has to go back to his old action.Too much coaching by diff coaches has destroyed him as he was always an idiot who could not fathom how gifted he already was' date='It pains me to see the bowler who looked the best in world in 2008 series in india against a top aussie batting lineup in test on same mohali pitch look so ordinary.[/quote'] Yeah. I am perplexed. Why change things when things are working for you which he did in 2009.
