Bowlers will fare better in T20s: Yuvraj http://www.cricbuzz.com/cricket-news/62055/bowlers-will-fare-better-in-t20s-yuvraj Veteran batsman Yuvraj Singh today defended the poor show of the Indian bowlers in the Asia Cup, citing new field restrictions as one of the reasons, but hoped for a triumphant return to form in the upcoming T20 WC in Bangladesh. "Our bowlers have had a problem of restricting the opposition since five fielders inside the circle rule has come, but T20 will be a different format and I am hopeful that they will do well," Yuvraj said today on the sidelines of Punjab's Vijay Hazare Trophy quarter-final against Railways. The all-rounder is working hard on his left-arm slow bowling and expects to contribute with the ball too. "I have been working hard on my bowling and would like to deliver during the World Cup." Yuvraj, who is a part of the Indian squad for the World T20, hoped that India's power-packed batting line-up will do well at the mega event. "We have players who can really do well in the last five to 10 overs. Myself, Mahi ( Mahendra Singh Dhoni) Raina, Rohit and Virat are all capable of winning matches. We have a powerhouse of a line-up," Yuvraj told Star Sports during an interaction. The left-hander, who will always be remembered for his six sixes off a Stuart Broad over during the inaugural edition, is expecting a "cracker of a contest" against arch-rivals Pakistan in the opening game on March 21. "It will be great entertainment as Indo-Pak match will be a cracker of a contest," Yuvraj said. Yuvraj was all praise for his state team skipper Harbhajan Singh, terming him a "legend in Indian cricket". "The entire Punjab team looks upto Bhajji. Anyone who has played 100 Tests and has taken 400 plus wickets is a legend of the game," he said. However, Yuvraj felt that the Punjab team that was thrashed by Railways today needed to improve. "We are repeating some of our mistakes again and again. Hopefully, we would come good next season. Manpreet Gony has had a very good season. Gurkeerat Mann also had a good season," he concluded.

The fifth edition of the World Twenty20 with 16 teams in competition will be held from March 16 to April 6. Bangladesh, ranked 10th in the world, have been drawn with Afghanistan, Nepal and Hong Kong in group A of the first round. The other group comprises Zimbabwe, Ireland, the United Arab Emirates and the Netherlands. The top team from each group advances to the main tournament. They will join the eight seeded teams in the second, which opens with Indo-Pak match on March 21. Hafeez wants his team to get the ideal start by beating India. "India-Pakistan match is always a pressure match, as a player as a captain I am very happy that our first match is against India and from there we will, Insha'Allah get a good take off and will perform better in all the matches during the tournament," Hafeez told reporters. The Pakistan team flies off on Thursday and will play two warm-up matches, against New Zealand on March 17 and South Africa two days later. Pakistan are placed in Group Two in the second round alongwith India, Australia, the West Indies and one qualifier from the first round. Hafeez believed Pakistan had the momentum with a win over India in the Asia Cup. "I think we will have that momentum of our win against India in the Asia Cup," said Hafeez of the one wicket win in the Asia Cup earlier this month. "We have advantage that where we are going (Bangladesh) we have played one-day cricket there recently. We have one week to get back into Twenty20 mould, expectations should be always positive and we all need to move in one direction." Hafeez said no team will be easy in the event. "Lots of teams are playing Twenty20 now and you can't take any team easy, you have to be positive in your thinking against all the teams. I think two things are very important in a big tournament, one is momentum which you have to carry and the second is luck and with the prayers of countrymen the luck factor will also be with us." Hafeez hopes dashing allrounder Shahid Afridi will regain fitness and join the team on March 17. "Afridi is going through rehab, I as a captain, need a fit Afridi that's why we have given him time," said Hafeez of the dashing hitter who hurt his groin during the Asia Cup. The 34-year-old Afridi hit two last over sixes to help Pakistan beat India and then smashed a whirlwind 25-ball 59 to steer a difficult 327-run chase against hosts Bangladesh in the Asia Cup. Hafeez said Pakistan team received good support from Bangladeshi fans. "After a very long time we felt in Bangladesh that crowd is supporting us, although we play our home matches in UAE (United Arab Emirates) we didn't get that much support as we got in Bangladesh, it's a good sign for Pakistan that wherever we are going we are getting crowd support."

HK defeat Zim in ICC World T20 Warm Ups Zimbabwe 153/7 v Hong Kong 159/6 (20/20 ov) Hong Kong won by 4 wickets (with 0 balls remaining) I know many people will say that HK team is Pak B team, but that actually is not the case. More than half of the HK team have played at U12 then U19 level!!!. This shows these players learned their cricket in HK itself even though they might not have been born in HK. Where in HK they learned cricket- Kowloon Cricket Ground the ground which hosts the HK Sixes and other 2 clubs in HK. HK is the only associate that has regular multi day matches for it's domestic teams.

everybody there is vulnerable to spin in Aussie line up MJ and co hold no big threat on these pitches. WI is bigger threat IMO badri and narine can pose problems to anyone, but WI have to beat Ajmal and co.

On these pitches,in these conditions+add our bowling and Dew factor,we will lose 9/10 games trying to defend. I bet even minnows will back themselves to chase against us in this format where they usually have a better chance of upsetting teams.

Check out the line up. They made it to the semis last year and now they have a much stronger attack up front. Finch, Warner, Watson, Bailey, Hodge, Maxwell, Faulkner M.Johnson, M.Starc and the Muirhead guy is pretty good too. Johnson had an awesome IPL last year. Finch and Hodge's inclusion makes them much formidable than the last time. West Indies have an immaculate T20 line up. Mystery spinners & hard hitters. Perfect for SC conditions and the short boundaries in BD.

I don't see those playing a blinder against spinners on a slow-low Bangladesh pitch. They do well when ball comes on to the bat ... not otherwise.
