rkt.india Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 So, it's gonna be a bald, low, slow and a damp wicket. Yet another boring Test. This is the reason so many Indian fast bowlers come out bowling 140 and seeing they have to bowl on such pitches a whole life then slow down to 125-130.
G_B_ Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 so long as Ishant does not play i dont care. Will prefer the Bhuvi-Umesh combo. But if shami plays in place of one of them i dont mind
G_B_ Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 I am guessing MSD will open the bowling with Ojha
MCcricket Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 I think like VK, Ishant, Yuvi, Raina, Mithun , Mishra should never be looked at as test players, Chawla or Sharma or even a rookie would have been a better option also Nadeem needs to play for India as he is a very good cricketer.

True. And they have to bowl on such wickets all the year through. It has rained cats and dogs in Kolkata recently though, because of which the outfield would still be sluggish and the wicket would just be prepared on time. The dampness will remain though.
Magneto Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 ok now no need of paying bhuvi.. Weather conditions might still give him some swing. :dontknow: Pacers would be mostly ornamental though, in this Test.
Malcolm Merlyn Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 New pitch. Sent from my GT-I9500 using Tapatalk 2
maniac Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 So, it's gonna be a bald, low, slow and a damp wicket. Yet another boring Test. Might suit wi equally....sounds like a typical wi pitch these days
SLICKR392 Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 dhoni will play ishant' date=' bhuv,ojha,ashwin...[/quote'] Nah ! He will go for Umesh-Bhuvi duo. He went Umesh over Ishant in the England series, IIRC.

Dampness might help bowlers seam the ball though bounce will be low.

Even in Pakistan they have same sort of pitches, right? I believe its more to do with mindset on bowling quick. Even on phatta wickets, there will be reverse swing and there is no reason why fast bowlers should cut down their pace unless they are trying play safe and avoid injuries.
Austin 3:!6 Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 This should be the team: :nice: Vijay Dhawan Pujara Sachin kohli Rohit Dhoni Ashwin Bhuvi Umesh Ojha This will be the team Vijay Dhawan Pujara Sachin Kohli Dhoni Jaddu Ashwin Bhuvi Ishant Yadav
FischerTal Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 My xi Vijay Dhawan Pujara Sachin Kohli Rahane Ashwin Bhuvi Umesh Ojha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Soorma_Bhopali Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 My XI : Shikhar Dhawan Murali Vijay Cheteshwar Pujara Sachin Tendulkar Virat Kohli (V/C) Rohit Sharma MS Dhoni ( C&W) Ravichandran Ashwin Bhuvaneshwar Kumar Umesh Yadav Pragyan Ojha 12th Man : Ajinkya Rahane Unlucky for Rahane , but I think any player should be blooded when in red-hot form and seeing the way Rohit is building his innings , although it is in another format , and especially in absence of any standout scores by Rahane in Ranji so far ; Rohit deserves to make his debut . Also , if Rohit succeeds and Vijay fails in this series ; Vijay's and Ojha's position is most likely to be sacrificed when Jadeja returns for the SA Series .Rahane will be fitted in as opener , Kohli at no.4 ,Rohit at no.5 and MS Dhoni reverted to no.6 position in that case. In the post-Sachin scenario after WI series, I think Rahane's realistic chances of making it to test team are as opener .
Sidhoni Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 Would have loved to have Rahane at 6 but then looks like Rohit is in the form of his life. Bhuvi - Shami for the 2 seamers. Shami looks confident after his good show in the ODIs and Yadav hasn't bowled for a while. Once again, all 3 would have been great. Also, good for Shami to get a test debut so that he makes it to SA as a playing XI contender. Kohli at 4 would have been nice but that is surely not happening. Sachin will never move down and surely not in the Tendulkar series. So it is Sachin at 4 and Kohli at 5
Sidhoni Posted November 4, 2013 Posted November 4, 2013 This should be the team: :nice: Vijay Dhawan Pujara Sachin kohli Rohit Dhoni Ashwin Bhuvi Umesh Ojha This will be the team Vijay Dhawan Pujara Sachin Kohli Dhoni Jaddu Ashwin Bhuvi Ishant Yadav He is not in the squad
