Another reason for both of the above things you mentioned is the pitches. Our bowlers or any bowlers in the word would make use of the wicket in south african pitches to restrict the tail soon. In England though and also in Australia, the pitches aren't really "Deadly" A bowler can come out and settle and frustrate the opposition. Even Kumble settled well there plenty of times and some other bowlers. This is where our bowling also put our hands down and wait for declaration to happen from opposition camp as they feel they have done all to get that last few wickets.

Also depends when we are playing England.....I am not familiar with English weather and some residents can be a better judge of it but from what I heard,India travelled there in more difficult conditions(weather wise which favors their bowlers) than SL and WI who managed to put up a better fight

SA tour is surely whitewash, and we should be able to win in NZ I am expecting a slightly better performance in England than last time. Hopefully a 2-1 or a 3-1. It is a completely new team who has little experience in alien conditions, especially England who won't give us batting friendly tracks like in the tours before 2011. Now that they have both the pace and spin strength in the bowling department , you can bet green tracks will be laid out

What are we doing between the World T20 and England tour, is it IPL time.. hope we have a decent break between then and going to England. we will lose there but how bad it is will depend on preparations. Nice to see two 3 days matches before the tests begin

Look nobody is saying we will win them all. Or sweep our opponents away. But after the champions trophy IMO we need to give this emerging team some credit. I am pretty sure rain will play its part in England. 1-0 loss in SA 1-0 victory in NZ 2-0 loss in England 1-1 in Australia I dont think NZ are going to roll out green carpets. Like it or not NZ cricket is heavily dependent on tours from India and England. Which is why they prepared total flat decks when England arrived. Partly as a defensive mechanism and party to get 15 whole days of cricket rain aside. Those extra days put some $5-$6 million in their kitty. You think they are going to roll out green carpets and ensure a test finishes in 3 days? already India are playing only 2 tests instead of 3. Same goes for SA. What we might get is flattish pitches with something in them for the seamers. Same goes for England. The grounds that bid for these tests need 5 days of cricket sales to make it worth their while. The financial might of India makes it imperative that these countries stretch their pitches to day 5. I am sure the English groundsman will be told to make pitches which are flattish but offer something to them for the seamers (they cant control overcast conditions). Last time we toured groundsman expected the quality on paper would carry us to day 5. With a new team i somehow doubt they will.

Realistically, 0-2 in SA, 1-1 in NZ, 1-3 in Eng. But if India plays its cards right, and play out of their skins, this is possible .. 1-1 in SA, 2-0 in NZ, 2-2 in Eng.

We are not going to win any test. It has to be prediction of how many we would lose. My prediction we'll lose both to SA, 1 to NZ and 3 to Eng. So total is 0-7.
