Wasim I can understand,Political issue but I am sure BCCI can get hold of guys like Pollock,McGrath,Their style is ideally suited for our bowlers....All that money and they buy hacks like SImmons and Dawes

What will the bowling coach do? Once the bowlers are out in the middle' date=' isn't it the captain's job to attack and rotate the bowlers?[/quote'] For Indian team a bowling coach is really required to train the Captain about proper bowling strategies and selection of bowlers based on the conditions.... I think all indian bowlers are rubbish. They will all get hammered soo i dont blame dhoni for loss. Its selectors job to find a decent bowler, not dhoni's. Batsman saved our **** against Australia but u cant chase down 300 plus scores in South africa .We really need a bowing coach and should fire Duncan Fleture

Both these pacers were really tall and used steep bounce as one of their weapons. Most of our current pacers are on the shorter side who can't get steep bounce. So, how is their style ideally suited to our pacers ?

:giggle: This isn't junior cricket where the coach will help you fix your mid life crisis. You have to have come sort of talent/skill the coach can expand on and work with.....barely any of our phastttt bowlers have that.

Well, if the coach can do nothing, then why have one at all? Maybe he is trying to fill the bowlers heads with too much info and confusing the heck out of them. So just fire him and let the bowlers do well by themselves.

Most of our upcoming bowlers as well as ishant are of decent height. ....I am not talking about unadkat, vinay, dinda etc

Most of the guys have talent and skills which need to be polished, likes of Umesh, BK, Shami, Aaron, Shukla, Suyal, Pandey, Dhawal, etc. All these have something in them to work with. Shami and Umesh have great outswingers. Umesh specially needs to work on his control and get the ball in right areas consistently to use his outswingers as stock deliveries. Same of Shami.

We fans and some media too underestimate the need of good bowling coach or coach for that matter. All bowlers who have come in to Indian team had talent but they seem to get stuck and regress instead of taking the next step in becoming consistent. That consistency has to be learnt at international level no bowler has it at beginning. That job has to be done by bowling coach. I am wonder stuck why nobody has questioned these guys like Eric Simmons and this Joe Davis now?? Who is hindering their development and why are losing their speed.

Approx. height of our pacers Shami 5'9" Umesh 5'11" BK 5'9" Aaron 5'11" Mohit 5'9" Suyal, Shukla etc. are less than 6' too. All short or medium height compared to fast bowlers who have to be about 6'2" or more to be considered tall. Only Ishant is 6'5". McGrath was 6'5" Pollock. 6'3" Our better pacers .. Shami, Umesh and Aaron are actually much quicker than McGrath or Pollock. Bhuvi, though about the same pace as those greats, slightly slower perhaps, have a complete different style of bowling. He mostly floats the ball whereas McGrath and Pollock were deck hitters.... McGrath more so ... and got bounce. Guys like Ishant, Pandey, Pankaj etc. would be closer in style to those 2.
