Which team will be more happy at END?

There's nothing like a moral victory though Saffies will think twice now before shooting their mouths off
It was a kind of victory for India. Ours is one of the most inexperienced team to have tour SA over the years, and for most of the guys this is the first solid test outside the SC without our legendary seniors. Yet they made SA sweat till day five. There is reason to be disappointed at not winning the match, but there is every reason to cheer about - India will not win too many matches overseas without a strike bowler (hopefully Shami will become one in future) but they will hold their own while batting unlike the previous tours to England and Australia.

From a match perspective, South Africa will be the happier side. Surviving 4.5 sessions is never easy. From a larger perspective it's an excellent result for India. Showing what dropping deadwood can achieve. Hopefully, it signals dropping deadwood from the bowling department and boneheaded captaincy as well.
This. We should be disappointed to not win in 135 overs but happy that team exceeded our expectations going into the test series.

India usually fluffs up in one or the other innings. If they well in first they f*** up in the 2nd or vice versa. We batted well in both innings which is a huge plus. We take lot out of this match than Saffers.

South Africa. Loss would have been a much bigger shock for them than India. They were supposed to dominate, at least they escaped. India would be more disappointed - missed out on a golden chance to win a rare test in SA. Reminds me of the Waugh farewell series - where we just couldn't finish them off on day 5.

True Before the test India loss - expected India draw - surprise India win - shock India was very close shock these guys.

Imo at the start of the day The game situation you would say India but in the end what a mess up by the Sa batsman, they should have gone for the big hits with 5 wickets in hand.

If there were 10 more overs to be bowled in the day' date=' who do you think would have won?[/quote'] 3 more wickets? Fair game to either side.

Good question but I would say India.....Win was a bonus from the start....We were expecting to play out of their skins to draw to begin with and it is a fact....it's different that we played so well that we found ourselves in that situation.

If there were 10 more overs to be bowled in the day' date=' who do you think would have won?[/quote'] Match was drawn and there would not have been 10 overs more, silly to think of it like that. Actually, india had one over more than usual. SA dominated all day today aside from the last hour/half-hour. But India has been winning sessions in day 1-4, more than SA. The day 1 batting, bowling out SA for 240ish, vijay-pujara, pujara-kohli, india's tail wagging a bit. The day 5 morning session maybe. SA had some good sessions like when they got wickets in groups and the day 4 100 run partnership. But overall, i felt india outplayed them apart from day 5. So to me, india gets more points.

India would be the happier of the two teams. They got out of jail I must say. It was always SAF game after tea, but the fightback by our bowlers made it tough for SAF. But I still think, it was more because of SAF going nuts than our bowlers bowling well that costed them this game. They will be disappointed that they didn't pull this one off. Another choke from SAF under pressure situation. After that splendid performance from AB and FAF, I never thought SAF would look keen for a draw as they did once FAF got out. India on the other hand, tried everything, but SAF were just too good for us. India will head to Durbanas a much more assured unit, but SAF will be far more determined. I expect a Steyn 10fer in the next game. He will come to the party in the next Test.

Depends.. Before the start of play on Day 1 if anyone said this will be drawn then we would have been happy End of Day 3 : Very disappointed End of Day 4 : Still disappointed Tea, Day 4: Happy Sa needing 16 off 20 : Very happy

India will be more happy in the end. Before this series NO ONE gave them a chance. They showed: 1. How good their middle order batting is. 2. The bowlers are not as awful as they are made out to be. 3. They can play in foreign conditions. 4. All of this against the best test side in the world. For SA this was suppose to be a cake walk and in the end they were praying for a draw taking zero risks.
