Steyn was pretty determined to win it for Kallis. Remember he did it for Albie Morkel in the IPL lol. One of his spell in a dead rubber game enabled CSK to move to last 4. :cantstop: This guy if he puts his mind to it he will get it done. Lot of bowlers may have that attitude. But he is the best in executing it. Massive respect.

We were really unlucky in this test. First day 29 overs lost, which was the session where we would have cashed in big time. Peterson and Steyn's LBW added 80-90 runs to the lead. Kohli's decision in the morning. Can't deny we were lucky to draw the first test.

Mainly umpire decisions cost us the match. Even in first test, ABDV was out in the 4th innings. BCCI should sue CA for poor placement of umpires.

Sigh.. where do we even begin? We should have the first test, but only managed to draw it (for the record, the saffies should have won it too.. they shut off the chase too early). With a little bit of struggle, we should have drawn the 2nd test, but lost it badly in the end. Honestly, there are so many bad outcomes here that it is not even funny.

Oh come on now.... there is no drs so we can not complain one bit about this... both sides are impacted in the same way. Bottom line is that SAF are at their peak as a test side and we are no where as good as them tbh.... Yet the young batting line up proved their mettle and fought well. Shami was the stand out young bowler as well giving us a reliable option with the ball (having 1 decent bowler is better than carrying four 12th men to form our so called 'attack'). So there are a lot of positives. But overall from an indian supporter's perspective this was a very bad tour on paper. We lost everything lol. Hopefully this team can win something against relatively weaker sides like NZ and Eng

Not interested about the postmortem of this series but if India have to win test series abroad they need to change their mindset. Please note there are tough overseas tour coming up this year - England and Australia. God forbid, if we get whitewashed again it will have a massive impact on our World cup chances. Make no mistake India will still be a very potent side at home but in order to become competitive overease they need to go for horses and courses. We need to play with 3 genuine quick bowlers, who can bowl 145 kph throughout the match. Umesh, Pandey and Shammi will be pace bowling attack in NZ and Australia. In England, I might play Bhuv Kumar as it assists swing there and see if he can pull a Praveen Kumar there. Zaheer must retire. Ishant,Mohit Sharma and any other trundlers should only play in India. I would not play 7 batsman specially when Ashiwn is no mug with the bat. That is stupidity and I will drop Rohit & play both Jaddu & Ashwin. We also need to give a stick on Dhoni's back and ask him to change his mindset in test cricket.

Agree with most of the points, except the emphasis on pace. 2-3 of my fav bowlers bowled at around 135 during their career (or at least in the second half) and were still outstanding. McGrath, Pollock (early days) and Asif are three such examples. We need someone with real guile and control to complement speedsters.
