Remove subsidies change it to cash distribution. 3 I want uniform civil code, no religion based reservations. I am a secular people may say thats not compatible with the earlier statements

Also think that thats a umbrella word and a vast majority of people would define themselves as that. I think within liberalism, people differ greatly on issues such as regulation( of pricing etc), (CAG) auditing of private and public-private firms, degree of welfare-ism, labor laws etc.

I tend to prefer the 'German/Scandinavian model' of society, where socially the policies are extremely liberal but economically they are 'capitalism tempered with socialism' that keeps wealth disparities down and favours a more even spread of wealth through society. Not a fan of 'money rules' type of economics that US is known for.

That model isnt applicable for India for atleast next 20-30 yrs. 2. I am not even against large wealth disparities if it is made sure that the lower echelons in society also get basic, good living standards and not sub-standard living standards. 3. I am against strict labor laws , against strict implementation of labor laws and am against labor unions. 4. Instead, I am for welfare-ism where-in : a. We abolish all(or most of the) subsidies. b. Every 15+ yr old will be eligible for cash of between Rs. 5000 and Rs 10,000 annually. Disbursal will be based on biometric verification / adhaar card and people will just have to give a self declaration that their annual income is less than a pre-decided threshold amount (say Rs 50,000) annually.

Large wealth disparities = social friction. Be it India or USA, widening wealth disparities make societies increasingly self-predatory. Strict labor laws relating to labor relations, work-safe conditions and worker wages is the real reason developed countries have non-disruptive labor forces. 4. I am anti-welfarism, simply because I've found in my experience that subsidies, which work as 'invisible incentives' tend to produce better work ethic in societies than the 'handout model'. Both are welfare states, one works directly with the individual while the other works indirectly by artificially lowering the competition against the individual.

(Thats the reason i support both BJP and AAP) Government should invest primarily in infrastructure,defense, energy security, education, science,tech & research and healthcare. Only those businesses should be retained by the state that may be critical to th security of the state or the technology involved in which would be necessary at the time of emergencies. Instead, government should act like a venture capitalist and fund fresh enterprises. People who can enterprise, create new products and business should be given full freedom to do that. People who are struggling to make ends meet should be given assistance to lead a decent life, to remain healthy and most importantly to be educated to a level good enough to join the first brigade. Politics:- (Legislative) I am also for participative and truly democratic politics. Political parties should have a transparent and democratic system by which people are chosen to contest elections, like the one AAP has developed. Congress and BJP, viewed in this light are dictatorial, where a political high command decides which candidate will contest elections. The funding of political parties should be completely transparent. Also, I believe in sufficient participation of people to make decisions about local level developmental issues. (Executive) A strong system of accountability needs to be pushed into the executive so that the economic decisions of government actually reach the people and are not just policies. Thus, strong anti-corruption measures are of prime and immediate importance. Without this any good work the government does is immaterial. (Judiciary) Loads of judicial reforms required. People like A.Raja and Lalu Prasad who were recently convicted are roaming around freely on bail even after conviction. They have not even had to return the corrupt money that they embezzled. Cases from 20 years ago are still pending in the courts.

Consider following things - India is 4-times USA -Ratio of GDP(PPP) per capita for USA and India is arnd 12:1 -Comparable country like china had labor-camp till very recently -India's lack of swift judicial pronouncements -Unorganized labor force being unaware of their rights. 1. Whether you give food, petrol, gas etc subsidy or you hand out cash, its the same ethics-wise. 2. Cash handouts will prove to be much more efficient and beneficial. People would have the right to spend that cash in whichever way they prefer. You will also avoid the mismanagement and corruption in subsidy disbursal .
