India desperately needs a back-up in test opener as I'm damn sure either of Shikhar or Vijay might not last till England series. We'll need one solid guy ready till then. There won't be any A tours before that or that'd have sealed the matter.

I only saw him on day 3 but he looked very good although i was not really impressed by Maharastra's bowling which itself is concerning since they made it all the way to the final.He did get out to a needless bad shot,his next step would be to be put up huge scores like Pujara not only here but in A tours as well,the Irani trophy is very important to him as he will face better bowling attack.

coffee_rules Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 KL Rahul still needs A tours to play international cricket. His temperment needs work as he has not had big scores like Pujara or even Jadeja. Very good defence and range of strokes. Got out on a bad shot after scoring 131.
express bowling Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 We need 1) A technically sound opener who is a decent strokeplayer too. 2) A reasonably accurate quick with pace , bounce and decent height. 3) A wrist spinner who can turn the ball on any surface. 4) A Corey Anderson type. Are any such players available in domestic cricket ?

He was opener who did show promise in the few test outings he had, technically flawed but showed grit. Would have meant we were looking to the future if he had played instead of GG in this match

Where is Pragyan Ozza? Why is he not in ROI?
