TNAmarkFrmIndia Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 If Kohli gets out, the rest of the middle order (barring to some extent Dinesh Karthik) can't be trusted to do well in the chase. Both Rahane and Rayudu have played at a snail's pace in the few matches that they got. Also, Rahane has been a massive flop in the middle order. Clearly, he's in the team just because of his fielding.
Cricketics Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Can't blame Kohli much. He has to give chance to these players because they don't get enough chance under Dhoni. Aaron gets to play too and Rayudu too deserve his chance. So even though middle order looks weak, it's good that we have given these player their deserving chance.

Gully cricket also doesn't have such a mindset.
Sooda Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 I think Pujara should have played as opener but also agree that It is only fair to give these two a good run having been in and around sqauds for a while. Rayudu can be effective at the death.

adi B Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 should have played pujara in place of either rahane or rayudu.ajmal and co will eat alive this weak middle order
jusarrived Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 This is turning into a Test team , joke of selectors
coffee_rules Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 SA NZ failures dont matter at all. The same f'in team gets selected. No change, just like Dhoni.
ShebbySB Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Pujara,Dhawan,Kohli,Rohit,Rayudu,Dhoni,Jadeja,Ashwin,BK,Shami,Aaron should be the best line up for now.Reserves:-Rahane,Kedar Yadav,Rasool,Pandey. No MSD in the Asia cup means DK gets his place.Rahane is not really the force he's in the longer format. Also Rishi Dhawan should replace Binny.
The Dark Horse Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Both better than Rohit Sharma FYI, but why is Pujara not there?
KohliRahane Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Rahane is a class player, he'll elevate that ODI average to over 40 in a year's time.
Pagalpanti Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Still think Rahane is better suited to open than at no.4, he times the ball well and has a good defence. On the flip side Rohit when in his zone can clear boundaries at will, kinda like UV, so I think he'll be more suited at 4.
velu Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 Now haterz can't blame msd for picking the jokerz like no hit , rayudu etc..

TNAmarkFrmIndia Posted February 26, 2014 Author Posted February 26, 2014 Good innings today but the way Kohli was playing, it made it easier for him. His real test as a No. 4 would be when he has to take the responsibility of scoring entirely on his shoulders. Dhawan and Kohli gone relatively early and there's still 20 overs to go or when they still need say 120 off 96 balls.
