Amit Mishra and death bowling

I dont recall any Indian spinner in last 2 decades who gave flight to the ball even in the death overs. Flight and deceiving batsmen are spinner strength. Of course he has Man of the matches from last two and has confidence. But still flighting the ball at death is commendable. :hatsoff:

Agree with VVVS..conditions favoring his wrist spin well but kudos for the control he has showed..he was never that consistent before with no balls and half trackers..

Shami cannot bowl in death, he has no clue. Mishy did well today but it was such a risky move against any other team it would have backfired.

I have already said about Shami not being good yorker bowler. With his unbalanced strides, he will not bowl good yorkers.

Mishra will not get rattled if he gets beats he will get beat but not because he got rattled. Ashwin and Jadeja bowl darts when they get hit instead of bowling more slower and giving more loop and air. Key to death bowling is you cannot be rattled by what happened on the ball before it does not matter if it is six or wicket.

thought he would have bagged his third consecutive man of match.. would have had that hat-trick ball hit the stumps! dont think any other indian bowler, gets as many hattrick chances as mishra does - superb bowler

Its not about rattling. Its a technical flaw which shoaib akhtar also talked about. His runup and strides aren't balanced which hampers his Yorkers and they end up in half vollyes or full toss. Bowling short is just a symptom if not being able to bowl good Yorkers. He doesn't bowl good Yorkers even in nets and it doesn't come over night, needs lot of practice. Even Steyn doesn't bowl Yorkers but he doesn't make batsmen play all the time, bowls wider and ask them to reach to him to hit.

Though Shami didn't bowl too poorly in that over, gave 14 but one boundary was an inside edge on a superb yorker, but he isn't reliable.

Shami is a very good test bowler......india should keep him away from T20......they can try other bowlers like bumrah or rahul shukla....who have done decent in IPL and wouldn't be as bad as sami in T20...... mind you....Shami is a very good Test bowler and has the potential to become all time india great if he works hard.....but T20 is not his cup of tea.....infact it might rattle his confidence

shami isnt a t20 bowler.. AND THATS FINE. Hes a star in odis and t20s.. give chances to others too (not shami's fault). Pacers: kulkarni (supposed to be a good t20 bowler), shukla, awana, pandey. You wont know till you try. we have a good amount of domestic bowlers yet they r never tried, just 1 by 1 :(
