He'd said something about the "sudden spurt" in no. of rape cases in the nation being a result of girls dressing in a very skimpy fashion. This was in light of the Nirbhaya case. He faced a lot of flak back then too. The only good thing that the members of the MNS have ever done, since the inception of the party is that they slapped this guy in the Vidhan Sabha. :cantstop: Not that I condone that act in anyway, but its still poetic justice.

I only say that Kejriwal has good intentions and have always said that he has been misdirected for a few months now, I might be wrong but thats my opinion. If he supports khap in haryana then I dont support him for doing that.

I'm sure there are lots of people who think similarly and hence he is singing this tune, otherwise why would he say this during elections ? Unless government adopts an aggressive attitude towards providing good quality education and spreading literacy, we wont see change in society in any aspect.

That appeal to demographic self preservation does not fly. Islam clearly states that pre-marital sex is a sin. Islamic jurisprudence of ALL schools of Islam clearly agree that such action CAN be punished with death. The idea that 'women would oppose this because it means women would be victims too' discounts the fact that people can be made to think certain 'actions' will have certain consequences and those consequences are justified by arbitary codes of morality. How do you think Jihadis come around ? every single one of them brainwashed by mullahs ? not a single mother singing tales of the shaheeds who gave their lives for the cause of Islam ? if so, you'd be sadly mistaken. IMO, that this guy even says stuff like 'in islam xyz is prescribed punishment' is enough for him to never get my vote. People who prescribe social policy on the basis of a belief system (and not facts or experiential reality) belong in nut-houses, not in the chambers that govern society. Just because one believes that xyz book came with God's words, does not give one right to subject society to the same parameters of his/her belief without explicitly proving that such a book is Godly in the first place, by satisfying every single criteria for Godly creation ( for appeal to authority from perfect entity requires perfect demonstration of the said authority's existence. Otherwise, its a simple logic fail).

Thats how brow beaten they are. Azam khan and Azmi know exactly what they are doing. They have won elections and have been elected before. Quite frankly they have a better knowledge on the pulse of their community than us internet warriors ever will. They know what it takes to win. I mean in the case of Azam Khan, the yadav muslim combo basically swept them to a thumping win. In the face of congress and sp competing for the muslim vote. Anybody who thinks these guys are doing the politically wrong thing are just kidding themselves. Its a strategy. Nothing more. Azmi faces similar issues of a split in the muslim vote in the bhivandi area between the congress/ncp and SP. The shiv sena actually won a by election there based on a split in muslim votes a few years back. Dont be taken aback or even enthused by the Takia comments. In her heart she knows her father in law is doing whats needed to win. After he is elected Azmi will say "sorry". Its a case of have your cake and eat it too.
