vvvslaxman Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 I have to say after ARR , we started seeing more dumb lyrics in Tamil.
coffee_rules Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 It is not actually a bad song in terms of lyrics. The video is bad in the sense it has no relation to the song. Why would someone dance and sing about being robbed/raped? This. Celebration of sexual harassment? Why is she singing about it. Doesn't make sense.
Number Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 This. Celebration of sexual harassment? Why is she singing about it. Doesn't make sense. +1. If it was today, it would have been banned.
Desi Cartman Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Don't say anything about that song. It was revolutionary and I was still in school and giggled about it for weeks Btw enjoy the rap from this one http://youtu.be/Uq-rFdfPPmA
Number Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Male lyrics : Main laila laila chillaunga kurta faad ke. Female : Main teri laila ban jaungi kurta faad ke. :haha: :haha:
DomainK Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 This. Celebration of sexual harassment? Why is she singing about it. Doesn't make sense. +1. If it was today' date=' it would have been banned.[/quote'] It's not sexual harassment. In the old days, it was customary for the woman to resist a bit even if she welcomes the advances, hence the description. Lovers those days were often lovingly called "zulmi" or "bedardi" for this reason. The way she is dancing and expressing it, it clearly shows that nothing was done that she did not like.

If you hear the end of the song, it states that she was robbed and her ear ring was stolen.
Yoda-esque Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 I have to say after ARR ' date=' we started seeing more dumb lyrics in Tamil.[/quote'] Their translation to Hindi was worse..films like Kadhalan, love birds, kaadhal Dhinam had terrible lyrics
I6MTW Posted April 24, 2014 Author Posted April 24, 2014 Here is a lyrics that doesn't even make sense. Mein to raste se ja raha tha. Mein to bhelpuri kha raha tha. Mein to ladki ghuma raha tha Then repeat of the first 3 lines. Then, tujhko mirchi lagi to mein kya karoon. Like this it goes on with both male and female voices, and then Teri Naani mari to mein kya karoon. This song is from the movie Coolie NO 1. Govinda, Karishma and David Dhawan have produced the most ridiculous no of songs.
I6MTW Posted April 24, 2014 Author Posted April 24, 2014 Javed bhai so reley' date='ache khaase lag re le[/quote'] From Jaani Dushman. Also from the movie Style, Excuse me, kya re.
I6MTW Posted April 24, 2014 Author Posted April 24, 2014 Their translation to Hindi was worse..films like Kadhalan' date='love birds, kaadhal Dhinam had terrible lyrics[/quote'] ARR had songs with good music but usually bad lyrics. Nowadays, he has both bad music and bad lyrics. He was at his best in the 90's.
Mariyam Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Telephone dhun mein hasne waali... Melbourne machli machalne waali.... Guess the movie??? Sent from my XT910 using Tapatalk I agree that this is arguably the dumbest song/lyrics in the history of cinema. But the reason being that this song is copied inspired from the vastly inferior and backward Tamil ( or is it Kannada) film industry.

Sooda Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 To be fair with the thousands of songs that are written for mainstream Bolly cinema these days you can forgive a few (ok lots) of lapses in both lyrics and music. Western bands or singer songwriters typically release an album every two years say, if not less frequently even. The more prolific of our music directors are releasing 2 or 3 a year ... its hard to be original all the time and the standard is actually good I think. I fear Amit Trivedi for one will burn out soon, he is a top music director -arguably the best currently operating- and his albums have generally been consistently good with a few real gems in there but he is over exposing himself
