what we will get is probably this attack below due to seniority quota, state quota and sycophant quota. so here goes:

prasidh (only due to dravid bias hopefully. this one is actually a good call for once)

bhuvi  (batting specialist and mandatory seniority plus trundler quota)

pandya

 

plus 5 batsmen. the second lineup is still good enough to destroy porks but i am not to convinced with chahar as the 3rd bowler. he is a good 4th or 5th bowler. 

 

 

In Australia, we would need hit the deck bowlers with pace who can force batsmen mistime their shots on those big grounds. If Kartik is fit, i would want him in the squad. His Yorkers as well as Hard lengths are very good. Only one of Chahar, Shardul, Harshal required. Shardul at least can bowl good bouncers. Likes of harshal will be mince meat like yesterday.

The Indian selectors should use IPL 2022 to unearth or choose some 140 k+ pacers with T20 skills.

either that or someone with hostile intimidating ability. You need that with pace of about 130-140. ideally 135-145 but 130-140 will be fine provided you can bowl nasty bumpers and yorkers.

Good to see proper fast bowling from both ends today.

 

Both Siraj and Avesh generating a lot of pace and bounce  ... and SL reduced to 11 for 3 at the end of 4 overs.

Both Siraj and Avesh have hit the deck hard and generated a lot of bounce and seam movement.

 

Batsmen consistently late on their shots and the ball was hitting the bat high and hard.

 

Average speed of 138 k for Siraj and 137 k for Avesh in their first spells.

Bumrah in place of Kuldeep would have been fun to watch on this track

Our 2nd choice T20I  bowlers are far more exciting to watch than our first choice bowlers barring Bumrah.

hey for real. i have watched bish for a while now. since under 19 days. kid is legit as they came. he is very talented. he is quality for LOI. i hope he can be added to test team as well. JUst get him trained up. he has the skillset. He needs some ranji exposure. kuldeep too. kully still young. wrist spinners are gold in any format.

Avesh lost the plot completely at end. needs to discard silly slower balls and focus on bowling the hard back-of-lengths that are not easy to hit. also use bouncers well.

His main weapon is hit deck with his awkward angle. With his length he ended up giving width

This tendency of Dravid-Rohit duo ... of picking even the 3rd specialist bowler / 9th batsman based on batting ability ( happening in the longer formats too ) ... is worrisome. 

 

If they wanted a spinner then it could have been Kuldeep, who is any day a better bowler than Jayant.

 

This tendency may destroy the bowling strength that Shastri-Kohli-Arun trio had created in tests. (  probably the only good thing they have done )

Would have understood if they want extra batting cushion in SENA but it's not needed in India. Like you said should have gone with proper bowler like Kuldeep if they were looking for a spinner.
