Md. Wasim Jnr. had played just 6 FC matches before Test debut.

Why is Pakistan choosing such pacers for tests  ?

Bare cupboard. The Hamza guy is a proven first class performer though but is a trundler and over 30. Everyone else is a tapeball bowler who cannot maintain their accuracy at a high speed nor the fitness for long format bowling. Thinking Naseem, Rauf, etc. You could say Pakistani approach is the opposite to ours when it comes to grooming pacers.

Why don't they try their better FC pacers ?

Wasim Jr, Rauf, Dahani, Naseem haven't played much FC but get selected.

Who is Harshit Rana?

A bowling all-rounder from Ghevra, Delhi, who loves to bat, Rana is known for his express pace and is currently the fastest bowler in the KKR squad. While the 20-year-old wasn't picked in the IPL Auction in February, he was roped in as an injury replacement for Rasikh Salam.

Having grown up idolising Pakistan's fast bowler Shoaib Akhar, who clocked the fastest delivery at 161 KPH against New Zealand in 2002, Rana, too, believes in the maxim of bowling as fast as he can.

Retained by KKR

Last time, on their website, they were promoting Harshit as the Fastest pacer in their squad, with Cummins and Umesh present.

make sense because cummins is mostly in high 130s nowadays, and likewise for umesh. harshit can consistently bowl in low 140s perhaps

Well at least he’s idolizing an express pacer. That’s a start lol. Needs to focus on training and getting stronger. Critical years these to develop pace. Hopefully he’s surrounded by experts but I doubt that.

I wonder who’s the bowling coach of KKR. A good coach there and exposure will do him a world of good.

used to be bharat arun (not sure if it's still the case), who is pretty good.

they've tried the fast tracking route but even considering that some of their consistent fc performers might be trundlers, you can't completely disrespect the process (lol!)when you select your NT. It would be like us having an attack of only unproven speedsters who had one good ipl season to play test cricket.

They do this with one or 2 of their batsmen too, the new guy Saud is an exception in that he has made runs for a long time and only recently got a chance.

He's semi open, generating good bounce even on this slow surface

Black soil pitch ruining factor in Indian pitches, need more Pacey (or red soil) ones where they get rewarded or aome purchase out of it

NZ toyed with Pak bowling too, not just Eng. Scored 612 for 9 on the same pitch where they bowled out Pak for 438.

Bawling Paawarhaus has no power    :phehe:

Pakistan should be allowed to use 23 bowlers in tests, 4 overs each per day, so that they can bowl decently in test matches and restrict the opposition to maybe 500.   :phehe:

It's sad that Sandeep Warrier never got to play for India, when he was in hiz 20s, while we give chances to so many dibbly dobbly pacers.

Warrier is a tall, hit the deck pacer who extracts life out of most surfaces and bowls with a lot of heart.  He is 31 now and his chance is probably gone.

Pankaj Singh 2.0 , definite national level player with clear international potential not given opportunity when in form. Later given token chance and duly discarded.
