ind_hyd1 Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 I remember listening to the great Wasim Akram about his partner in crime waqar younis, he talked about the commitment waqar had.He would literally sprint from almost near the boundary line irrespective of if it was the first ball of his spell or last ball. And he did it for 15 years.Thats the passion and commitment that our young bowlers should develop. tweaker 1

Utter rubbish. There are plenty of spells where Waqar would bowl medium pace in both formats. This idea that bowlers bowled consistently quick in every spell throughout their careers is typical of old timers. Plenty of times I've seen Waqar trundle at 127 kph etc. in the latter half of his career. If this is even remotely true, it's only for a couple of Australian quicks like Lee and Starc . Nobody else.

Waqar career are totally different in two halves. From 1989 to 1996,he was a completely different bowler. Due to various injuries ,his pace dropped and after 1998, he was mostly dropped due to emergence of Shoaib and other young fast bowlers express bowling 1

ind_hyd1 Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 True bro.. but atleast when he was young and at the start of his career upto 97 he was genuinely quick. Our pacers in 1-2 become 135k bowlers Siraj and Akashdeep are prime examples

Hope he continues doing this. We need a bouncy 6'6" pacer like him. ● Waiting for Tyagi to play domestic cricket regularly. ● Yudhvir is performing in Ranji too. ● Hangargekar is falling behind. ● Akashdeep needs to get his pace back. ● Umran needs to get fit for the remainder of this Ranji season. vishalvirsingh Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 read some where that shammi is gearing up to fly to australia from the third test and before that he will prove his fitness in ranji trophy. Need4Speed and express bowling 2
vishalvirsingh Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 news about Mayank's fitness issue is very DISAPPOINTING. seems he is again out for 90 days- abdominal muscle issue or stress fracture...not sure but he is out for 60 to 90 days. Need4Speed 1
vishalvirsingh Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 when umesh , zaheer were touching 138 to 140k in INDIA , they were easily bowling 142 to 150 k in Australia, so i feel it is 5k speed reading difference. akash deep is easily bowling 135 to 140k and i expect him to easily bowl 140 to 146k in australia and with his immaculate line n length , he is destined for success. Siraj is also good but i hope he gets his ppace and form back. he is a very hot and cold Pacer. Same is about Prasidh ..he can be a trundler or a fast bowler and his bounce has very little value under 133k .

I am kinda worried and Hope that MAYANK is not one like these. even Prasidh also seems to be into that category( very fast and swift but he has fitness issue's) . even in australia , if Prasidh does not maintain himself , he can get unfit. SEE Harshit Rana , he is trongly built and though he is atleast 7 to 8 k slower than Mayank on Pace and I guess much less talented than Mayank but his fitness is good. See Umesh Yadav, he had very few fitness issues and he could bowl 140 to 150 K at his wish in australia and even in his last match that i saw , one of his ball was around 145k with a reduced run up- he had good fitness. Long story SHORT Indian Selectors cant BANK on Prasidh and Mayank as I feel these guys are brittle and may have fitness issues's-selectors need to find a UMESH YADAV kinda bowler who is fast and strong or ishant kinda who is fast bouncy and strong. ashish nehra was a bit like mayank - he could generate pace easily but had a body susceptible to injuries. ashish was always faster than ZAk but ZAk was stronger. BOOM is strong but his bowling action is a little tough and can cause stretch. even mayank's bowling action is SO good to generate Pace but he can get hurt - he bowls at the pace of SHOIAB Akhtar and has a physique slightly better than kuldeep yadav. mayank's bowling action is far better /swifter than Umesh yadav. The are fewer chances of him playing bgt, he just returned for injury and got injured without playing much. High likelihood of being replaced at the last moment with Mukesh kumar. Do not have high hope on NCA and event they declare him fit would not trust it

Pace jyada nahi lagi, ho sakta hai 138k tak bowl karta ho.... height itni hai ki 140 to 47k range mein aa gaya , line n length achi lagti hai , control bhi thik hai. thodi pace 130 to 138k lagti hai. ISHANT even during his last match was a better bowler than him. but he definitely can improve and has the height and talent to play for INDIA.

Mayank Harshit Umran Height. Decent can get good bounce Tallest of All,extra bounce Short, lack of bounce Pace Express(?? now) Fast Express Accuracy Good Decent Average or lower Movement not as of now Incoming delivery?? not as of now Variations. Slow balls, bouncers, bit of yorkers slow balls, bouncers, occassional yorkers?? bouncers, occasional yorkers Fitness Recurring injuries as of now okay as of now\average,need to lose some recently seen some back to back weight imo issues Experience not much, need more matches played good number of domestic matches need more doemstic matches Batting not much looks like a lower order prospect may be? Based on the above..Even though Express pace excites me..if we remove the express parameter..Harshit can be more reliable and talented as of now.. The fitness and batting makes Harshit better choice..as compared to Mayank... Even Think about whiteball.. if Bumrah Returns then who can be 3rd bowler after him and Arshdeep..Harshit..due to batting..else we may not have batting after 8..assuming Sundar is our spinner..or Pandya has to be 3rd pacer..???
