Like I mentioned sometime back here, that not choosing genuine quicks is an administrative decision. And here is my theory. 

Indian cricket is layered with bureaucracy and politics. There are a lot of vested interest. There have been loads of players who do not/ did not deserve place in the XI but were/ are part of team for reasons other than talent. For me players like Axar Patel, Harshal are prime examples of that.

The moment you start promoting genuine fast bowlers, one will have to choose pure talents rather than such quota/ bribed players.  And that doesnt augur well for the cricket administrators. Ranges right from someone who owns event management company with close unofficial ties to BCCI, to past players running cricket academies, to regional heads and so on and so forth. 

 

I may get flak here but you will be fooling yourself if you dont get the bigger picture.

Shami is fast but he is a short skiddy pacer who attacks the stumps at pace and moves some channel balls away.  He has a hostile bouncer but hasn't used it much in this tournament. He is better as a new ball bowler in T20s.

The fact that us posters could pick a 2nd XI team that would beat the team that lost to SA, tells you something funny is going on.

 

Sure Jaddu and Bumrah are injured, but there is 9 other players I could pick easily that would beat the team that lost on Sunday, in Australian conditions.

for sure , it’s a corrupt system. Folks like Sen Tyagi Umran Moshin Mavi are not looked into, I know Avesh Arshdeep got in, and saini got his chances.

In ODI's Thakur, Arshdeep, Chahar are ahead then these 2 (Kuldeep and Umran), one of them might get a window for an odd match.

Yeah difficult to get a game for both with this team management but hoping they get a game atleast.
