If your batsman can't score runs then why the hell they are in the team. Bowlers primary job is to bowl well.

Umran clocked 149 k twice in his 2nd spell.

 

Lots of 145 k+ balls.

 

Saw nothing below 142 k excluding a slower ball. 

 

Line still good.

Bhagao isko, ek to he bowls slower than Jhoolan Goswami on top of it he has this much issues.
He is just there for his batting utility but if he's not fit to bowl consistently then there is no need.

true to form, our defensive bowling is just not good enough, whether it be with pace or spin. Captaincy and field placings also didn't help. We allowed Bangladesh to just coast to 270 from 69/6 which is not acceptable.

Very little effort was made to take further wickets after 69 for 6

 

Bangladesh put up a little resistance and we went on the defensive rather quickly.

The attack is missing Bumrah. He’s the only good death bowler we’ve got. 

Umran hasn’t been wayward with his lines. But he will need time to develop his death bowling. Needs to practice yorkers but that won’t be easy. Also, if he’s gonna go for length and the occasional Yorker, the captain should be smart to place the fielders strategically in the V and extra cover to block the gaps. But a big positive was that at least he got wickets and there weren’t any loose deliveries in his spell. Good that he’s chosen for ODIs. Tests and ODIs are best suited for him. Will be a demon in test cricket. 

 

Definitely need another death bowler of Bumrahs class. Siraj is completely hit n miss. And Shardul is complete trash.

Ebadat has bowled very good average speeds here.

He didnt look that quick when i saw him in the Asia. Here he is easily the second quickest on show.

Lord Chahar again getting injured, have the same question for a guy who bowls around 125 KMPH he gets injured so often. And why is he getting selected in every tour

Chahar has looked really slow in his last few ODIs.  Slower than Shardul even. It seems like he does not have the fitness for 10 over a day bowling.

Shardul and D.Chahar are neither proper bowlers nor proper batsmen. Same with Harshal. They can bowl only in certain conditions. And their batting will always see more failures than successes. 

 

There is no point in playing more than one such bits and pieces player.

 

And if we pick proper in form batters in the top 6 then one can argue that none of them are needed.

Took 2 wickets upfront. Could have had a 3rd if not for that dropped catch by Rohit.

 

Bowled poorly at the death.

 

But it is not about individual names. We need to pick good bowlers as a matter of policy who are likely to perform more often than not ... instead of bits and pieces guys who will not perform more often than not.

Rahul's captaincy is ordinary at best
