Most pacers find it difficult to control the ball if they go flat out while trying to swing the new ball. 

 

Their quickest spells are usually with the older ball. 

 

Donald is a good example. Steyn is another one. Marshall is another example 

 

But I agree that lots of swing bowlers are genuine fast bowlers and it is a fact which is often ignored by Indian selectors. They invariably pick gentle floaty bowlers while trying to pick swing bowlers. This is a wrong approach.

Early on, Siraj swings it away from RHB and then seams it in to RHB with cross seamers when swing reduces.

Very tough with his batting skills. I'm hopeful Tyagi or Harshit can be in XI after the WC.

Harshit should be introduced as pacer all-rounder at No.8 in SA ODIs, after the WC.

Bumrah has very few bowled or lbw of top 5 batters in Odis,not surprising.

He uses full ball as a surprise weapon rather than regular delivery when he bowls upfront.  Shami is the one who hits that 8 meter mark and tries to bring it back to right handers. Bhuvi does on a good day.  Booms tries to the hit the 6 meter mark

After WC Ind needs to darft player who have more than 1 utility. 

 

Its very hard to find balance in Ind team today, Induction of Ashwin so late is clear indication of this.

These days off spinner has to be proper batter (regular in 11 ), as there will be a lot of matches where you do not want to bowl an off-spinner (ex: against right handed batter).

 

Can not have more than 1 player who can not bat/tonk 1/2 in last few balls.

There is Mavi ahead of him in the fecking order

Everything is pragmatic for selectors

They will waste good 4-5 years on him before getting someone like Harshit in by the time he'll be 26+ and loose steam and inspiration like Mukesha

yes..i hope Harshit remains injury free and  lits up the domestic tournament and ipl next year..with his AR performance..

his stocks will automatically rise up..against all others..hoping the same for Hangu and Bawa as well..

With Shardul and Shami being rotated in for minnows games and Axar in for Kuldeep if necessary.

 

Just to make up for 2-4 overs of part time bowling, we are compensating both batting and bowling depth by playing extra spinners.

If you consider Pandya as tail, it already starts at 6. Jadeja is batting worse than tailenders. I'm asking for an extra batsman at 6 and then Pandya at 7.
