We have got our new keeper batsman.

 

And this will.allow Pant to return as a specialist batsman without the pressure of keeping.

This is what genuine fast bowling looks like. Using bounce and hostility. Something which dominated cricket for so many years and did so even after helmets came and the 2 bouncer rule came. Opposition teams got blown away. 

 

Nobody knew about the release epeeds. But batsmen shivered and their teams lost. And these hostile bouncy pacers were the low average strike bowlers.

 

But modern strike bowlers don't want to use hostile bounce as a weapon and need a lesser quality enforcer pacer to do this for them,  They don't want to bowl with effort.

Marshall and Roberts had the greatest bouncers. none of the other WI, Pak, Aus pacers I have seen used them so well.

Walsh was a brute too when it came to bounce. And most WI pacers of the 1975 to 2000 era practiced generating steep bounce.

After watching this video, I just realized Varun aaron had modeled his action on Malcolm Marshall. Varun had so much potentials! One of the many gems Indian cricket lost.

Seriously if Mukesh is picked in the 4th Test ahead of Akash Deep especially given what Safaraz and Jurel did on debut, I will launch a jihad on this thread and the Indian Team Management.

Tall, slim guy and high ball release too which aided this.

 

He is not given enough credit like Roberts, Holding, Garner, Marshall, Ambrose.

Mukesh has taken a 10fer in the last Ranji game against a weak team. Our selectors can think of it as a world class bowling and bring him back.

Aside from Akash Deep's bowling being an asset, I was told he can bat.

Above all else, we also need to have a stronger batting unit that bats deep, so its bonus to have Akash.

Aaron will be retiring from FC cricket. According to a cricinfo article he is going to play white ball cricket and he will be involved with MRF. He will be a part of "fast bowler talent hunt" and scout the country looking for young fast bowlers and will work with them.

Sad to see him retire, so much of unfulfilled potential.

With little more support and guidance, he would have been a fine white ball bowler.

I respect both Aaron and Umesh for their sheer dedication/love for fast bowling

These two really inspired lots of guys take up fast bowling in India without realising they took inspiration from them
