Tbh, I am not impressed by Arshdeep. I find him at the most a makeshift bowler, even at T20 level. We need stronger bowlers, who are naturally quick. 

What the hell is wrong with the management? Why are they trying to prove Pandya is a full time bowler. He almost ruined yesterdays match. High time we take notice of this and have a proper cushioning for mainline bowlers.

Shivam Dabba, Jadeja, and to some extent Axar are a baggage in this team.

We are a team with multiple holes.

Pandya is bowling coz they can't play Siraj.

If they play Siraj then they have to drop Kuldeep, as Jaddu and Axar are mythical allrounders.

If they play Siraj and Kuldeep together. One of Jaddu/Axar has to go...our flat pitch batters can't take that risk with 4 tailenders at 8-11.

 

All this problem can be managed If we developed a pace bowling allrounder who can bat at no 8....but even in Zimbabwe T20 series Harshit is sidelined for quota bowlers like Avesh, Mukesh, Khaleel and Tushar.

Umran Malik was awarded a Fast bowling contract.

 

But not picked for a trip to Zimbabwe even. 

 

If he can't be picked against a really weak Zimbabwe then what is the point of this contract  ??

Not picking Harshit Rana for the Zim trip is an appaling step.

 

Here is a 6'3" tall and bouncy pacer who can bowl 145 k+ .. is just 21 years old .. is showing a wide range of white ball skills and performing in IPL knockout matches too .. can bat and hit big shots.

 

.. and you don't pick him against Zimbabwe !!

 

Unless Harshit has picked up a niggle, Agarkar and Co. need to be booed for this. It shows complete lack of vision and no eye for spotting talent. OR maybe bowing down to people pushing their sifarishi candidates.

This World Cup is clear example why express pacers are not picked. Arshdeep, Naveen ul haq, Gulbadin etc all are 130k pacers picking wickets. While Nortjie, Archer are ineffective. Only Bumrah is picking wickets but he is different class

Afghan pacers lack height and pace but still. Very effective

But, over the long run,short medium pacers are rarely among the top bowlers and have never formed formidable pace attacks. 

 

P.S ... T20 is the format where pace or bounce is the least important when compared to Tests or ODIs.

Depends on the pitch and conditions,today's pitch at arnos Vale was  good for pace bowling .Also Archer and nortje aren't swing bowlers,so taking wickets with the swinging new ball is not their strength.

Need atleast one of them. If you do t have pace or bounce then unless you have extreme seam movement off the pitch, I would say one should consider becoming an all rounder or just give up the dream of becoming a fast bowler.

Nortje etc aren't exactly struggling in this wt20 but hard to match farooqi's new ball swing in t20s,even boult has good stats.This why new ball swing is so effective in t20s.

This world Cup is in West Indies the land of tall express pacers. Surprisingly their wickets are also for medium pace or spinners. No wonder they stopped producing express pacers

WI produced pacers despite the pitches. Except one or two, pitches there were mostly like this.

Nortje Archer are struggling? Which world cup are you watching my dude. Nortje has the same wickets as Bumrah and way better economy than Arshdeep. Kuch bhi bol lol. Arshdeep leaking runs in a few matches offsets his wickets too.

What a bunch of buffoons. Even a donkey in timbaktu knows that the mythical runs axar and Jaddu score, Siraj will save more than those runs by either taking a wicket or 2, or by intimidating the batsmen! 

I think someone has actually invented a time machine. And the Indian selectors have been sent to 1970's!

I have been saying this for a while. And believe it or not, its the truth. And the other truth is, they dont want genuine express bowlers because then these sifareeshi players wont stand a chance.

Harshit was even fined unnecessarily during IPL
