145 is asking too much from him..injuries and inaccuracy will happen..as its not natural to him..

even maintainin 140 will be tough..

min 135k and occassionally 140s should be fine for him..but we need intent on thsoe 135k+ bowls too..no floaty stuff

I will again say left armers are overrated for test cricket and not required especially someone who struggled to cross 135. Left armers are more successful in LOIs.

He has bowled early 140s before and so it is possible for him.

If Boobie bhaiya can increase and reach upto 144 why not Arshdeep,he too should work hard increase a yard or two

I wont generalize that much..but just dont take them because of angle..taken them if they are good bowler..there could be others but for ex..see Neil Wagner he did well for NZ..as he had this good short bowl ,mental strength and accuracy..

 

in the end if we have a goo dbowler,.be righty or lefty..shoudlnt matter..

If they bring it in(mandatory for left armers at pace),there is place for them, but certainly pace should be there as you can buy time in redball as a batsman

Neil Wagner was nasty even at 135 kph so its more about style than pace. Arshdeep can do the job if he has the stamina for it.

Ind played with just 1 specialist fast bowler in last 2 t20is in SA tells a lot about the selection and fast bowling picks made by the selectors in last 3/4 years.

They needed to bring-in Akash deep  outside from the selected 17 member squad for that Eng test series , dayal was to go to aus and instead went to SA

It is the outcome of picking pacers by looking at their stats instead of their bowling style + stats.

 

They are picking too many medium pacers who look quite innocuous but pick wickets in domestic cricket because of low quality batsmsnship and because these pacers can bowl accurately if they are not attacked by top batsmen. 

 

If a medium pacer has to be picked then he must have some exceptional qualities to make up for his lack of pace. Just good stats won't do.

this is the bowling lineup I expect in Perth. Not fully my choice as I would replace Siraj with Akashdeep or Prasidh and Jaddu with Washington.

Saw a few overs today and Shaheen was bowling 130 to 132 k and Naseem 134 k to 137 k at that time. Both looked innocuous.

 

They have lost a lot of pace and even zip off the deck.
