You should have high gear but you can't operate at high pace all the time in tests. Often in this series the tail was allowed to get away with the game. If you’ve watched Australia off late, you would know that their lower order batters (even middle order) struggle big time against pace. Had we had someone bowling at high pace against their tail, we could have won at least 1-2 matches. Guys like Cummins n Lyon would not have been able to make a fool of these bowlers. And no one has said they want a quick bowler to bowl 155 every single ball. Those quick bowlers r smart enough to understand their body limitations. And for a bowler like that, no one in their right mind is going to make them bowl long spells (or at least they shouldn’t). express bowling 1
singhvivek141 Posted January 5, 2025 Posted January 5, 2025 Gavaskar said in India Today that Harshit was unfit hence Prasidh played ahead of him. What happened to Harshit ?

Nikhil_cric Posted January 5, 2025 Posted January 5, 2025 Prasidh is just not consistent enough with his length, Siraj loses his line too often. It's amazing how Australia keep producing bowlers upon bowlers who are tall and just keep hitting a good line and length over and over again. The elite 140 + are rare but there's always a guy in domestic they can call on to just bowl like a robot.

India too can produce many fast bowlers.Pitches in Ranji trophy should be result oriented, they should help either seam or spin. Sad to see a team like Mumbai win all trophies even tough they have a mediocre attack. Agreed that they have good quality batters, but that alone shouldn't be a deciding factor. Coaches should encourage young bowlers to go all out, help them by managing their work loads and tell them not worry about injuries Imran khan encouraged Pakistani bowlers to develop aggressive wicket taking mentality when they were young. He would push them to give it all. Sad to see Saurashtra still persisting with trundlers like unadakat and jani. I am not saying they shouldn't be playing but in between give chances to some young bowlers and help them also. After loss of pace even the natural bounce that he used to get has also taken a hit. I want to see if he can regain his pace back, that will bring his bounce back. At this moment he is going nowhere. is it the dengue or something else?

But dengue impact shouldn't last this long...at max 2 weeks. Since they're doing physical activity let's extend it to 4 weeks. Beyond that is something else, either he is carrying some injury, or he is not putting effort in his bowling. He clocked upto 144 in his first game and many deliveries in 140-142 range. vishalvirsingh and tapandrun 2

Number Posted January 6, 2025 Posted January 6, 2025 Arshdeep has been quite good in list A games recently. Will probably make into ODI XI in England series. Siraj, Prasidh and Arshdeep could be our 3 pacers for Eng seris.

vishalvirsingh Posted January 6, 2025 Posted January 6, 2025 The Pitch in the last test was a GREEN track, if a cow eats in the 22 yards pitch, she wont remain hungry. i have batted on a GREEN track at CROSS Maidan. i need to share my experience. in our team we had a bowler who had a run up of 8 to 9 yeards and he used to bowl around 105k. on flat tracks i used to hit all his 6 balls out for either a 4 or a 6 , i had played against him so he was scared of me as he knew i will always hit him and wont miss even a single ball. SInce he was Our Main fast bowler( accurate), we practiced on the same match Pitch which we had to play a main match very Next day ( we could get that Pitch in the early morning some how). He clean bowled me once and i could not hit or even defend properly. ball skidded like rocket the moment it landed on grass and at any point of time ball rose like a serpant. actually, i was thinking that Prasidh and Siraj and Nitish reddy could also STOP Australia in scoring 185 runs. Had we got BUmrah we would have won. Siraj was accurate but not PACY so australians some how got lucky. Prasidh was a Little unlucky as I feel he did bowl well but some of his FULL balls are too easy to score as they are either full toss or over pitches or floaty yorkers. Nitish bowled OK but his pace even on a green track was under 133 and the SKID was less- shammi is similiar but 140k+ and his ball Skids even faster. Nitish can be a 4th test Pacer if he can improve his bowling further. Nitish's batting was not up the mark in the last test.
vishalvirsingh Posted January 6, 2025 Posted January 6, 2025 Siraj is bowling slower bcos he is over worked . Akashdeep had dengue before the series and Hence he was not at his peak when he played the second TEST. Harshit had a dream debut and he bowled well in the practice game too. but in the second test he was not good. in the third test , was he dropped or injured. GG and team should have supported him a little more. Hope they support him now. 'akash is too slow now and has to increase his pace to come into reckoning. MAYANK Yadav , karthik tyagi, harshit rana , kuldeep sen should be picked and trained hard - who ever gets his line n length perfect should get into the 11 for tests or ODI.....

Pitches and better build I can understand for guys like Cummins and Starc. But my question was specifically about accuracy. Our guys are not even close to that level of accuracy.

Not everyone can be Bumrah, who is excellent in all 3 formats. Shami is accurate as he isnt regarded as a class death bowler or a T20 bowler. Same goes with Pat Cummins... Starc isnt that accurate, but he has pace and ability to intimidate the batters with his pace...was hitting 140-144k even on the 5th test.
