His spell was a decisive one, broke the back of TN batting order.

Bouncers that could get the batsmen's head on a Pitch looking like a patta.  " Deadly Spell" clearly calls out give your wicket Or get hurt.

he is supposed to be bowling 85% in feb..so still a month for that..hopefully he will get there

Saw a video of a semi-fit Bumrah bowling in mid 2023.

He was still hitting the bat hard and his wrist whip was still there.

Mayank is not giving similar vibes.

Sher Mayank coming back...very heartening.

Let me state this clearly: he is an exceptional fast bowler who can generate speeds of 140 km/h, even when he's only 70 percent fit. I’ve watched his recent IPL matches, and despite using a shorter run-up and appearing somewhat unfit, he still consistently bowled between 135 km/h and 145 km/h.

As a dedicated fan of Mayank, I firmly believe that he possesses the skills to play for India. He reliably delivers the perfect line and length, and even at speeds of 138 km/h to 144 km/h, his talent is undeniable. His ability to maintain that ideal line and length is a true testament to his god-given talent. What I mean to share is that he is much better than others who bowl between 136 to 143k and represent india and Mayank has better line n length ( god gifted).

If this guy is healthy he is second  best bowler in India only behind Bumrah. As you said he has natural ability to bowl line and length.Even with 135-140 he will be good enough. But he needs to bowl longer spells to build his muscles.

Hope India does not lose him to injuries.Hope his career follows like Jimmy Anderson, who was so injury prone early in his career but had such a long career.

1. How for you know ?

2. Even if he is, reaction off the deck of the ball is not good.

Have not read this news article, but it not new to such article surface up that mayank is 80% fit or 90% fit before the IPL.

If it was reported properly it would have told v.clearly what speeds he is clocking and how many overs he is bowling. It not that hard to tell about a pacers fitness levels.

As for mayank do not see that mad-man kind of attitude from him for fast bowling, it may be that he is not wanting to push or may be because he knows how much Ind crkt system despise bowlers who tries to bowl fast.

But in general and going but past of NCA and Ind bowlers only bhumrah was attain the previous speeds which he used to before the injury and he also talked about it that he was so worried that he may lose the pace and he do not want to lose pace.

Have posted this previously in regards to mayank :::

For what it looks like if he make to Intnl cricket again , he will come as a bowler who can bowl 145+ kmph and hit high 140s similar to what he did in series vs bd.

Then he will become someone who can touch 145 kmph and will settle to 140ish kmph bowler and this is going to happen in a short period of time.

The expectations should be lowered

By default bhumrah has smallish run-up and and hard wrist snap. That is his default action.

Even when warming up in the nets he takes couple of steps and bowls like that , it not him trying to do anything different but a natural thing to him.

I can see that he is not willing to bend is back..probably because of not risking the recovery process..him and NCA guys will know more about his body currently..

Rana and prasidh hit good speeds yday. We will take wickets in middle overs of they keep it up. The new ball is a problem for now.

Harshit was bowling consistently 135 to 145k and even Prasidh also was in this range.  Main Point was it was a flat deck and afternoon, had they been slow, they could have been hammered big time

V Panwar

K Choudhary,120kph bowler operating for UP

Deserved to loose ,there is no place for 120kph trundlers bc

Tyagi no matter how pathetic he bowls ,he will stick pick wickets in cluster and create chances, was benched,UP lost despite scoring decent 310

Tyagi must change FC side

Those two sweetie pies(pacers)laid featherbed for Saurashtra batsmen

Heard ,Tarmale clocked regularly 140+ today vs Karnataka

saw some highlights , he was bowling high 130s kmph and touching 140 kmph.

so would be fair to assume he can bowl early 140s kmph in t20s

I am sure there are many hidden gems in India, many from villages and lower middle class who have the body , fast twitches or whatever to bowl fast. I remember many many years ago when I was studying bachelors in Bangalore, it was during the khalistan problem, the punjabi business men were sending their sons to Bangalore to study and hopefully start a new business down south, these youngsters used to bowl extremely fast, we had some bowlers then who played for the Karnataka team, but these you g Punjabi used to outbowl them easily. But they were more interested in building a business and running around with girls rather than serious cricket.

The point i am making is these big made Punjabi boys did not see cricket as a profession, they had money already. Now with ipl and tv, there are many youngsters who will know cricket can be more lucrative than even business.

In USA the basket ball scene is dominated by african american disadvantaged youths who want to be the next Micheal Jackson.

If the selectors are good, India will be dominating with no competition for the coming decades, let's see ..
