Lone Wolf Posted July 19 Posted July 19 While a flat pitch but bowling has been toothless and aimless from the start. Wasting new ball came to bite us.
rkt.india Posted July 19 Posted July 19 (edited) Gurnoor conceded 60+ runs in the last four overs. First 6 overs 35 runs. Completely lost the plot in the last four. Need to learn quickly. Edited July 19 by rkt.india Lone Wolf 1

MK55 Posted July 19 Posted July 19 Gunroor was bowling decently the first 5 overs that I had watched. I stopped watching when we struggled to get wickets. I don’t know what happened in the final overs but looks like we conceded some extra runs and lost our cool. He has the ingredients and needs MORE exposure. Anyways I’m not surprised by the knee jerk reactions in some threads though. The problem really was the start. You don’t take wickets and this is exactly what happens on good England batting tracks with Butler coming back in form. Just look at the past scores. Bumrah was needed. Prince is probably the most mediocre bowler I’ve seen in a decade playing for India. Arshdeep is marginally better that’s it. Dont be so short sighted. And Shreyas, Kishan Rahul with no contributions?? Dude u don’t deserve to win then. The whole point of being behind the run rate with wickets in hand is to take advantage later on with those wickets. They failed. Mosher and express bowling 2
Suhaan Posted July 20 Posted July 20 (edited) WC pace will be Bumrah, Siraj, Gurnoor or Prasidh with Pandua as 4th pacer If fit,we will sweep aside sides there, batting I can't say much No harm in loosing these bilaterals just give these newcomers real game situations,no better place to prepare for the big event And properly manage your magicians till it finally arrives g@@du TM and selectors must persist with Gurnoor,he will win you world events soon Edited July 20 by Suhaan Vk1, express bowling and Mosher 3

express bowling Posted July 20 Author Posted July 20 (edited) The biggest thing the TM and selectors must do is to give full support to Gurnoor despite a bad game. He has been amazing in his first 5 matches. Gurnoor must play the 2 tests in Sri Lanka. Sooryavanshi did not get this support. It's how you support your high potential newbies, during the inevitable bad days, is how you define your legacy and build a strong team. They will make scapegoat of Gurnoor, Prince, Kuldeep but save the tried and failed superstars. Suhaan and Vk1 2

Rightarmfast Posted July 20 Posted July 20 There did not seem to be a game plan. Surely the team management knew Bumrah would not be there. Nobody bothered to read the pitch either. They bowled wrong lines and wrong strategy throughout. This is not Gurnoor's fault. The seniors have to take the fall. Not playing Vaibhav Suryavanshi wasn't a smart move either. He couldn't have done any bad. Is Shreyas really a player you can depend when chips are down and when you need quick score? Not convinced. Arshdeep is past his sell by date. Let him make money in IPL and be happy. He just doesn't have the skills to be playing International matches, the only format he could be given is T20. Prince is a trier, but he doesn't have it either. I always believe that if you try building a solid Test team, you will get a few players who can fit any format. The problem with our selectors is, they are building a team based on IPL matches. They will always fail. These young fast bowlers will build a long-term solid test team. Gurnoor, Ashok, Tyagi, and Prasidh, if age permits. They need to give such solid players as many matches. I also think that not allowing these chutpunjia Indian IPL players , any other International IPL leagues is hurting our chances abroad. The outsiders have played in India and know our secrets. But the Indian players are still alienated. They stop performing when they go abroad. The management is being too money-minded, corrupt and just thinking in terms of money and dominance.

And Gurnoor never bowled with new ball. Bowled all the tough overs. India making 360 odd itself tells pitch was a belter and their spinners proved to be the difference. express bowling 1
