My friend answered , "Sir I am an Allrounder". Jadeja laughed and said "Kid if you want to be successful in cricket never ever say this again, a cricketer is either a Batsman who can bowl or a Bowler who can also Bat. So please either become a batsman or bowler no allrounder please. Now I repeat my question what you are tell me". My friend answered, "Sir Batsman". "Go and Pad" was Jadeja reply.

Trust me, unless we unearth a spinner we will never win a test match overseas. Our win in Perth test in 07 was due to Kumble heroics and I can count many many more games.

Kumble just took one wkt in that test IIRC that of Symonds. Our win in n Perth was mainly due to the performance of fast bowlers

adi B Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 A Must in today's game with players playing so many matches in a calender year especially leagues like big bash,IPL and meaningless odis,its imperative that the workload of the bowlers is shared consciously else they can easily get injured or breakdown. for Picking 20 wkts in each test especially in a long series ,it is important that the pacers are fresh and fit to bowl each spell,a fifth bowler in the form of an AR helps a lot. But then playing an AR just for the sake of it is foolish ,case in point,binny

An all rounder should bring balance to whole side. Either he should be both good bowler and good batsman or he should be neither a bowler nor a batsman.

Secondly if there is seam movement from the grass, there is a chance that the ball will grip. So IMO he will bowl better here than he did at Trent Bridge where there was nothing for him.
