Old guy Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 in india we had problems showing up in first game itself with weak middle order and ineffective bowling but here our strength has not even clicked yet ! they can obviously win if they play well but they are mentally just done after ashes and we will gain lots of confidence from this win

It's whether the Indian Team let them come back into the series. As I said before the series, over the past year England have shown two great weaknesses in their batting: 1. Judgement around off stump (Cook, Balance, Robson and others). 2. Short pitched bowling (Prior, Broad, Ali and the tail). And guess what? That's exactly how England are getting out for the most part. England aren't going to suddenly improve that in just 4 or 5 days till the next match. That gives us a Plan A with bowlers who can pitch it up on that off stump line. A Plan B with sharp bursts of short pitched bowling, and Plan C with spin. Be aggressive and support Bhuvi/Ishant with a bowling attack that can exploit those weaknesses.

cowboysfan Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 lets not carried away,we effectively played this match with 10 players.Dhoni will still play all our test matches(atleast prior showed some dignity by stepping down).that means we are playing with 9 batsmen,thats a huge disadvantage to start a match.I dont think Dhawan has a future in test cricket but will GG be any better? .Ashwin will probably replace Binny in the next test but i would play Pankaj instead.
nevada Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Sure, they can. If they can make a comeback after being one down in India, why not at home? But one difference is that this time they don't have KP. And Cook is badly out of form.
