Are Indians over-rated vs spin?

Also the saying that Indians are brought up spinning tracks in domestics isn't 100% true. A lot of the tracks in domestics are pacer friendly esp in the north due the timing of the tournament.

They play better when there is consistent turn. That said, players like Dhawan natrually suck against spin, especially their defence. Heard Dravid say this about his dismissal- 'When the ball in turning away and its bowled at the middle stump, you play it with a straight bat.' Dhawan was trying to angle it down the legside against a ball that spun away. Pujara's was just lack of concentration. He's probably the best players in the team against spinner along with Dhoni and Gambhir.

Don't think these young bats are great against spinners,they got skittled by robin Peterson in saf,now moen Bhai wrecking havoc.IIRC swann made kohli's and pujara's life hell in India back in 2012.even shillingfird did well against us.we are not that good against spinniers as we think .moen was ineffective against the lungans

Most indian batsmen especially pujara n kohli are very good against spinning ball . But its the arm ball that doesn't spin is causing problem and our batsmen failed to read, they are playing for spin n paying the price

They aren't playing enough with their feet. Need to come down like Michael Clarke. Be positive with their footwork and hit straight and confidently.

The thing I find with this young team is that they can smash spinners but they also get out. The Fab 4 could do it without getting out. With all being said, getting owned by Moeen Ali shows how badly we have done.

If you go by quantity we are obviously,but these are swing bowlers who exploit the conditions not the ones who bowl genuinely fast. These are not bouncy tracks but more green(English/Nzl type conditions)

Same question again, a bit of overconfidence and a laid-back attitude against spin seems to be the reason. We tend to believe in assumptions, and as it happens very often, assumptions aren't true. In a new environment (away vs england), our ability to play spin was certainly highly over rated.

Indian batsmen are good when spinners are bowling 83-87 kph but once the spinner bowls around 88-95kph, it unsettles their batting style. Remember Monty panesar? He was pretty good against India last time they toured India and he was bowling at the same pace. My prediction is Moen Ali would continue to pick wickets against India in the next test match as well. Nathan Lyon would get smashed tho. He bowls around 83-86kph.

these A tour matches were played on highways.lyon has improved as a bowler and i was talking about the 7fer he took in 4th test in delhi last year (i went to watch the match that day in the stadium)
