Pretty sure he is confusing Jesus with Santa
Indian pastors dont want to complicate stuff for fresh Indian converts. Our Indians are so great that, if they know that Santa gives gifts and Jesus only forgives... then they will start praying to Santa a lot more. :giggle:

Imagine if the whole world was Christian... Whole world will pray to Jesus Christ, but India will pray to Santa Claus, Jesus, Mary, MAgdalene, Joseph, Abraham, Adam, Eve, Peter, John, Thomas, Friends of JEsus, MOses, Noah, Ben-Hur even the reformed Judas for sure :D VAtican would go nuts. :D

A Muslim once tried to convert me in my first job post graduation. I was only in my early 20s whilst he was in his mid to late 30s. He would always say 'when are you joining the brotherhood' I knew enough about my religion and pushed him away. The three big middle eastern religions all believe the world is only 6000 years old. So have a debate with him. Ask him about the dinosaurs, how did the bones get there if the world is only 6000 years old. Ask him does he honestly believe Noah's Ark really happened and all living animals and insects fitted into one big boat? If Adam and Eve is real then what about Neanderthals? Does he believe the world is flat and centre of the universe? That is the best way to deal with these people. Are you in India? My experience was in the UK.

Ranvir, that line of attack works on christians but not to muslims- the koran is silent on the age of the world too IIRC. However, the line of reasoning with muslims is simple: get to know them, show interest and then ask them if Arabic is a perfect language. Regardless of whether they say yes/no, demonstrate that Arabic is not a perfect language. Its easy to do if you know basic linguistics (if not, look them up). Every language has flaws of some sort or another- some minor, some glaring and one glaring flaw in arabic, is that there is no 'p'. There is only b. (yes, in arabic, its bebsi, not pepsi). Not to mention, there is no such thing as a perfect script (Hangul might come close, so might abiguda scripts of India/SE Asia but i dont think any script is flawless either). once you do this, then ask- is the Koran a perfect book ? If they say yes, ask them, how can a book, written in an imperfect language, using an imperfect script, be perfect ? Even if one is to assume that the original thoughts of the koran are direct transmissions from God and is perfect, how can perfect, still remain perfect, when represented through a flawed medium (the flawed language arabic and arabic script) ? Therefore, the Koran cannot be perfect. It is logically impossible to write a perfect book using an imperfect language and script, since a book is a visual representation of a linguistic thought put through a script. Once you do this, this would shut up the islamists pretty good- they won't bug you again. But they may go hostile towards you.

The Koran does believe the whole world is 6000 years old and Adam and Eve story. When I asked this coworker of mine about the dinosaurs he said that people had planted the bones in the ground to trick people :D

My co worker also once tried to do this, started talking to me in detail about koran and that how truth is that there is only one God etc, I tried to ignore, but then I got irritated a bit and then gave him a lecture on sanathana dharma, we had a debate spanning more than 2 hrs, and finally he ended up requesting me a copy of bhagavad geetha to read.

I was having a conversation with one of muslim friend about current extremism in islamic countries, I said that the illiteracy is also a big factor in rise of extremism in Muslim world, I mean there are less than 600 universities in Muslim world, while india alone has more than 1100 universities, also christians consider themselves a superior religion.

How come no Hindu never tries to convert other religious people? As far as I am concern, Hindus are the coolest in terms of religious tolerance. I don't have to pray 5 times a day, I don't have to go to church in the Sundays. I haven't been to a temple in months now. LOL. Yet, I don't want anyone from my family or relatives to convert to some other religion.

This older dude in my office that I share isle space with is trying his level best to convert me to Christianity Yesterday he gave me a big lecture on Jesus and bunch of other things. I respectfully listened for about half hour without saying a word. He stopped talking on his own later. This morning as soon as I walked in he got me a few things to read. I just told him I wasn't interested. How do I deal with this? Its driving me crazy...he sits right next to me and see him all day long ...so irritating
complain to the HR.
