Silva Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Tendulkar can score centuries consistantly. Raina and yuvi can take apart bowling attacks for fun once they get set. Dhoni can consistantly get India good competative scores. Kohli is the only one that can do all 3 things on a consistent basis. Just needs to have a big wc or champions trophy
gakgupta Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Sachin' date=' Dhoni, Kapil, Ganguly, Yuvraj. I can easily count 5 ahead of him.[/quote'] Forget Ganguly, I would rate Kohli ahead of sachin in ODI's. I have seen sachin messing it up at the back end of the game multiple times and eventually end up losing. What good a century serve, if it cannot win the match.... Again, I m not comparing quality of batting and Test cricket. We are talking about only ODI cricket...
Detonator Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 I donno who is Rohan Gavaskar. Sunny's son? :dontknow:

adi B Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 sachin, ganguly, dhoni, yuvi are ahead as of now.lets see how he does in the wc.i have no doubts he'll be an ATG after 3 more years. i am more concerned about his batting in tests,i really want him to do well.this aus tour is very important

If he continues to play The way he is playing, he will be ahead of sachin as an odi player by the time he scores only 12k runs (sachin has 18k runs). This is because kohli wins more matches. (Even after discounting for tht sachin played with a weaker team in the 90s)
putrevus Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 He needs to do it against better attack in their own den. He struggled in SA' date=' was abysmal in Aus against Aus.[/quote'] This notion that Sachin was tearing Australian attack in Australia and SA attack in SA in odis is a fallacy, he scored single hundred in Australia in 2008 after many visits and single hundred in SA. He has single hundreds against NZ and England too in their home grounds.. Why are we rushing this guy then and why are we setting different bench marks. Sachin as a test player was miles ahead of Kohli, it is not even close. But in odis Kohlis so far has been better than Sachin.
Laaloo Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 I donno who is Rohan Gavaskar. Sunny's son? :dontknow: yup
maniac Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Look at the bowling attacks of the ODI sides in Tendulkars era and the bowling attacks of Kohli's era. Kohli is already an ATG in ODI's but to call him better than SRT is premature-As an Indian fan I hope he does become better than sRT but sorry match winning innings against this SL side is not a benchmark. Apart from Malinga ,SL ODI bowling is a joke. Kohli's best innings as a chaser and match winner was in the T20 S.F against S.A...I don't count all these SL bashings as great or even the Paki bashings in T20 WC's and Asia Cup

nevada Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Kohli has already played a crucial knock while chasing in a wc final. After 2 early wickets it was his partnership with Gambhir that got India out of trouble.and this was his very first wc tournament.
