utter nonsense in the OP.. dhoni was fast becoming a long term danger to indian cricket... the guy was never technically good and he has an inflated view of allrounders..does anyone remember a pak side with malik ,hafeez ,afridi and razzaq in the batting slots? that's where he is taking us...always paranoid about the 5th bowler he was taking his idiocy to tests as well....someone who COMICALLY believes 13 overs from binny would help us take 20 wickets only deserves ridicule and contempt even from u14's. neither fast bowlers were developed at the rate they should..the 6th batsman slot is still unsettled. with his exit, fast bowlers can be given the chance to develop...the 6th batsman can be developed from rohit/tiwary/rayudu development will be atleast in the right direction.even Australia with its highly promising fast bowling prospects is suffering overseas.. so that's not an issue.. if he continues, we will suffer with no settled 6th batsman ,fast bowlers will have little scope..defensive cricket will be part of the culture...he will bring in bits and pieces hacks for even test cricket he has been unwilling to unlearn his bad habits consistently playing irfan or ashwin in batting positions like an amateur illiterate.. the fact that strong fast bowling sides like Pakistan and west indies had declined in the last decade and Australia in transition also helps mask his weakness more effectively in the current age.hence he is happy with spin based wins on slower surfaces and has no clue about achieving greater heights

what you mean a 'couple of tours"? they had plenty of losses including to zim...the 2002 win in wi was the first test win outside subcontinent in 16 years...the 2005 in zim was the first outside iubcontinent in 19 years...not to mention every other ODI series..that's how bad it was

I often have a laugh here at India but in honesty most Asian players are technically poor and can succeed only in 'home' or home like conditions. You get the odd star player - Sachin, Sanga type but generally true.

I certainly know that he is by far the worst I have seen in the last 17-18 years that I have been following cricket. It is as simple as that.[/quote'] TBH I will take Dhoni the batsman over Saha the batsman but the margin is not too big but forget captaincy,Dhoni's wicket keeping has been a big minus on these pitches as well. Sore fingers well that could just be a rumor but clearly standing miles back to 130k bowlers,Leaving catches for 1st slip when most keepers would have gone for them has cost India a lot more chances....Being a captain he was able to get away with such crap and the common viewer with lack of cricketing accumen hails Dhoni as some kind of a tragic heroic captain with a rubbish team. When you have an average to poor bowling attack like ours,every half-chance needs to be converted and this is where we lost half the battles.

Shocking numbers... I knew India had a horrible overseas record under MSD, but assumed other teams were doing poorly too.... As somebody else mentioned, MSD the overseas captain was worse than I imagined.

I too appreciate Dhoni , the LOI batsman, a lot. He is an ATG in that format. But , Dhoni the test captain, is simply unbearable for anyone who genuinely loves test cricket.

India misses genuine swing bowlers. There are two things that Aussies struggle against.. against spin on sluggish tracks and swing bowling. Lack of Bhuvan is a big minus. Also spinning options are poor for us.
